Hey,
First, "Swords & Sorcery & Sushi" is just a working title. I want
something that reflects D&D, Japanese culture and Love Hina' goofy
nature. That said, here's my idea.
I'd say just Sushi & Sorcery; a double & like that seems a little clunky.
The basic idea of this story is that while cleaning out the
attic at the inn Keitaro finds a trunk filled with old D&D stuff that
belonged to him when he was in high school. A little thinking causes him
to recall that his box of D&D turned up missing after his mom shipped
some things to his grandma for storage. Sure, theres no evidence in the
anime or manga that Keitaro is a D&D fan, but I dont think its a
stretch either.
Seems reasonable to me.
Keitaro is pretty happy to have this stuff from his youth back
and promptly shows it off to the girls. Their reactions are mixed. Su
and Shinobu seem a little interested since its a game, Makoto just
Motoko
I'd suspect Shinobu probably would normally not be interested in D&D, but if
_Keitaro_ asks her to play...well, that's another case :)
Keitaro: For himself Keitaro chooses a cleric. Im not sure what sort of
god hell serve yet. But I figure a cleric is a good choice for Keitaro
because I think hed really like the idea of his character being able to
fight and use magic. Also, due to odd behavior by the dice, Keitaros
character will be as indestructible as Keitaro himself.
Isn't Keitaro going to need to be the DM?
Naru: Naru finds herself cast as a mage. Mages are good at both fighting
and magic and Naru is good at fighting and studying so this seemed a
good fit.
Mages can't fight worth beans except with their spells. But as the brains of
the group, it's a good pick.
Kitsune: Kitsune is happy to find that Keitaro has made her a rogue. I
think this fits Kitsunes trickster side well. Plus, rogues can do just
about anything a thief can and whats a good D&D game without a thief?
Fits perfectly.
Makoto: Our resident Kendo master is mildly pleased to have Keitaro
decide that she should be a fighter.
Her name is Motoko. And yes, this fits.
Su: Given her wild nature and love for tropical stuff, Keitaro chooses
to make Su a ranger. Su likes the idea a lot. Almost as much as she
likes trying to eat the dice, thinking theyre candy.
Heh.
Shinobu: Since he has a hard time imagining her doing anything
physically violent, Keitaro makes Shinobu a wizard. Shinobu is a little
embarrassed that Keitaro thinks of her that highly.
I think she should be a cleric, myself. Wizards may not do hand to hand
combat violence, but they dump flaming death on people, so...
Sounds like an idea that has potential :)
