Interesting. I can't honestly say I've ever read another Bebop fic, so I
can't comment about cliches or lack thereof. I must admit, I really don't
see the point in resurrecting Spike. (For you, the author, not for Dagara.
Dagara's motivations I can figure out, more or less.) Spike's story was done
at the end of the Bebop TV series, all the loose ends had been tied up. I
can't honestly see what the point of bringing him back would be, aside from
shock value to the other Bebop residents when his existence as "Fan Kuei" is
finally revealed...
As for Jet and Faye, I think you've captured them well, especially Jet's
mental voice. "The ship was too big, Jet decided. It'd never seemed that
way when
Spike had been there. Two guys, they needed their space, their own
territory to stretch out in. When Ed and Ein had been there as well,
the -Bebop- had seemed downright cozy." That's some nice imagery and
phrasing. Very much how I'd imagine Jet thinks.
Anyway, I'll continue to follow this story; I enjoyed bebop, and I hope
I'll enjoy this, but if I don't it won't be because you're not a good
writer; this was nicely done, on a technical level. I question the direction
your plot is going, but I'm willing to wait and see, 'cause you've got me
intrigued.
Cheers,
Dave Menard
