> "Did you really think you'd convert me with mass murder?"
Knives: How about if I give you a calendar too? Would that convert you?
Vash: You're with the Jehovah's Witnesses! I knew you were true evil!
> "Picking up Nicholas's bad habits, Vash?" It came out mockingly, Knives'

I wondered about the smoking. Nice to see Knives mention it.
I had to acknowledge that Vash seems to take on a few characteristics of
the people he loves; from Rem's deeply peaceful philosophy, to something of
Nicholas there.

Ah ha. Yaoi fest. Noticed that trend in Trigun fics. :)
You know, I enjoy yaoi--but I cannot stand Trigun Yaoi. None of the
character scream 'I fuck boys!' with the possible exception of
Knives/Legato, but then, I can't even see Knives doing it, simply because
it would be so far beneath him on the food chain in his mind that it would
be nigh impossible. It'd be someone getting off to the eroticism of a petri
dish. I just... nope, can't see it. Knives is nonsexual. Asexual, even. The
only compatible mate for him is himself. Pray he doesn't bud in later
stories. o.o;

Knives: Up?
Vash: (hand roaming towards Knive's crotch0 Oh yes, hunky buns. Up.

Among others.
Yes, well--he has two very prominiently displayed cuts on his face after
the battles with Midvalley and Legato in specific. I deemed they were the
only wounds to leave scars behind... well, on his -face- c.c;

Vash: Makki, the Florest. Devem, the Corpse. Beastialty Bob
Knives: Wrong fic, you putz.
Vash: Oops. Sorry.
{And there we have my gratuitous self-plug in C+C for the evening. ^_^)
Bad reviewer! Bad, bad!
>
> And Knives finally realized just what he was trying to say.
Knives: I'm not gay!
Vash: Ah, no, that's not what I'm trying to say.
Knives: Oh. My bad.
I'm having flashbacks to 8-Bit Theatre and Black Belt! "I want to kick
thier asses! -- But not feel them. I just want to kick them."
> And it came. It came in floods; Meryl's parentage, Millie's sexual

Vash: So you think she was making cookies with Nicholas the night before his
final fight?
Knives: Don't bring logic into this.
So THAT'S what they're calling it these days...

Vash: Just like my own. It's why we got along so well.
Knives; Now you're starting to scare me.
...
I'm not going there.
>
> "She's not Rem," Knives goaded.
Vash: I know, Rem was much more even tempered and had bigger tits.
Knives: Not to mention taller, and brown eyed.
Vash: But Rem wasn't a tiger in the sack!
Knives: I'm not gonna ask HOW you know that.

Which many fanfic writers have capitalized on. :)
It's a little in joke ;D
Nice work. Flowed well, and the dialogue was very good. I like how you
restrained from having Knives suddenly convert; as long as he's been
obsessed, he isn't going to change after a ten minute conversation. Nice to
see the depths of Vash's fraternal love for his brother. Interesting way you
continued to use the term 'plant' for Knives (which he technically is). All
in all, nice work. Glad I read it.

I couldn't have Knives convert Just Like That. It'd be a smack in the face
of one of the Badasses of Villiainy. I like villains like Knives, with
moral ambiguity, shades of gray, and so many delicious psychological
issues... Mwahaha! My faves. But I was so afraid I'd not do his dialogue well.
I've got Gemini's Conflict started--bringing Meryl into the picture a few
days later, when Knives is well enough to stand up, run around and scream
and rant (but still goes down like a ton of bricks when Vash bitchslaps
him.) And in mind, I have Sex and the Stampede.... which will obviously be
a lemon, and Meryl showing Vash the
*ahem* ins and outs of losing his
virginity. I'm sorry--I don't buy this, 'Vash was out living it up and
sleeping around with women AND men that seems to be a popular idea. The guy
just doesn't have the sexual presence to have been like that--and he turned
down the oppourtunity in the series. So Meryl gets to educate a
hundred-year old virgin with soooo many psychological issues in the way
around the bedroom. I have a few thoughts in my head about it, I've just
not put any to paper/print yet ... c.c;
Storys planned: Millie/Knives showdown. (I think she's going to smack him
with a shovel. In fact, I want her to. I just have to figure out how to set
it so she can BITCHSLAP him with a shovel.) Meryl/Vash/Knives
confrontation. Knives/Meryl showdown. Eventual split up. And yes, can
plants breed with humans, and if so, how the HELL does Knives react to the
irrefutable evidence that plants and humans are from the same genetic stock.
I just haven't been able to dedicate the time to WRITE these things down. Sigh!
