Chapter07-sidestory-02 <Originally completed on
11/14/2001> <REVISION#0>

This is a Ranma 1/2 - Sailor Moon crossover with
certain aspects of Ramayana.

Disclaimers:

Rumiko Takahashi and Shogukkan own Ranma and the cast
members of Ranma 1/2. Rumiko Takahashi is one of the
most brilliant people to walk on the face of this
earth. We the fans of the anime world are forever
indebted to her for giving us Ranma and co. Thank you
Rumiko Takahashi for bringing laughter back into our
lives.

Naoko Takeuchi, Toei animation and KODANSHA, owns
sailor Moon and its characters.

I do not own the characters of both these shows, nor
do I even pretend to own them. This work of fiction is
but a tribute to the above anime shows.

Guys:

*....* indicate thoughts. In the first and second
chapters <...> indicates Japanese and "..." indicates
Chinese.

In all the other chapters, the reciprocal is true.

Author's notes:

This part will explain things from Vellacharya's point
of view. It will go to show his real motives behind
his dastardly deed. Heh! I have always wanted to say
that.

Thank you. C&C are welcome.

Now, on with the show...

***********************************************************************

He had been loved and he had loved, once and a part of
him ached to feel the same again.

But, he had been a fool then. Just like the others, he
had thought that the darkness was the plague.

He had been wrong of course. He had realized his
mistake a long time ago and the others had banished
him for that mortal sin.

He had realized then that they were all hypocrites and
he shunned them as they had shunned him.

What was life without power? It was not even worth a
dime. Power was everything. Everyone yearned for it
and everyone died searching for it.

And it was power, pure, exhilarating and unbelievable
power that he had discovered in the darkness. Power so
powerful that it had a taken a life of its own. That
was the darkness. It fed upon anger, hate,
depression... it fed upon everything that made one
powerful and it had its seed in everyone's heart. Too
bad, none of the other fools recognized the darkness
for what it was.

Since the darkness was power, it demanded order. Not
the puny balance that the light had striven to
achieve. No, it demanded order -order so perfect that
it was beyond the imagination of everyone save itself.

And the hypocrites resisted it. What did they know of
power? What did they know of order? What did they know
of control? And most crucially, what did they know of
chaos?

The answer to all the above questions was a single
word: Nothing. The hypocrites did not know. They
thought that power had to be learnt and not gifted.
They thought that everything would order itself
without interference. They thought that control meant
guidance. They thought that power was chaos. It just
went to prove them idiots.

Weak as the hypocrites had been, they had tried to
destroy the darkness. Fools, all of them.

They had thought that their champion would render the
darkness into a million bits. Idiots.

They never took into account that their champion had
the seed, the most powerful ever, of darkness. And it
was going to cost them. It was going to cost them a
terrible price indeed.

With a simple demonstration of the balance that the
Gods were so in love with, he had turned their
champion into their worst enemy.

Who would have thought that such a weak thing as love
could kindle the storm that would unleash the
darkness? Nobody, least of all those idiotic savants
of the light.

*It will soon be time,* mused Vellacharya while
smiling grimly from the shadows.

The battered form of Chola lay in the middle of the
clearing. Even in the condition that he was in right
now, the power was starting to seep into him. Hatred
and the need for vengeance had been kindled and the
seed had sprouted.

The most powerful weapon for the coming war against
the light was being forged right in front of his eyes.

*And so it has began.*
