"You will do it again."

"Yes, Commander," she said with convincingly feigned pain.

"Ach. Stupid plugsuit," she cursed and looked up as her companion
glanced around the corner in curiosity. "AAAAAAH!!! SHINJI NO
ECCHI! SUKEBE!!!" Said subject was punched into the bulkhead,
causing the stage to reveberate from the impact.

"Well, the children certainly enjoyed this year's summer beach play
though the property damage was rather more. But I think Keitaro-kun
and the others had fun too," laughed Seta.

"Some damage was inevitable for a giant robot play. I thought we
should have done 'Journey to the West' again," replied Haruka,
her cigarette hanging limply on the corner of her mouth.

"You're afraid that this was an unnecessary risk."

Haruka nodded, eyes far away. "But what's done is done. We must
watch if there is any reaction." She took in and then exhaled
another puff of smoke. "Have your excavations uncovered anything
we can use?"

"Pieces of the puzzle. The version of the Dead Sea Scrolls used
by the old men is quite complicated."

"I wish I could go with you. Both."

"I know. I wish you could be with us. We three were always a team.
But your health is fragile. And Sarah needs to be cared for, out of
potential harm's way."

Haruka smiled. "She's as exuberant as her mother."

"Yes, she is." He smiled too.

"When will you be leaving for the next excavation site?" asked
Haruka as she gingerly removed her contacts.

"Tomorrow," he replied, looking into her now-uncovered red orbs.
