A warning I got from a friend that I haven't seen here on the FFML.
There's a site that's copied thousands of fanfics to their servers locally and
is displaying them with their own advertising banners. Words can't express how
wrong this is.
You can find out if your work is on there using their author search:
http://www.mediaminer.org/fanfic/srca.php?arn=A
(starts at the letter A... I recommend going by the alphabet, I typed 'Gagne'
into their search box and got no results despite being filed in there under my
name)
You can then contact webmaster@mediaminer.org to ask that your work be removed.
For those of us who actually do try to make a living off our writing via legal,
voluntary donations, this sort of hijacking of our work is sickening.
