Performed By The Brokenhearted (Gosunkugi Hikaru - Guitar and Vocals, Kodachi Kuno - Guitar, Mousse - Bass, Tatewaki Kuno - Drums)

(The screen fades into a shot of Gosunkugi kneeling next to a grave site, his eyes sad looking and depressed. He looks and the camera pans to see the names on the headstone: Akane Saotome, Ranma Saotome. A tear falls from his eyes and he stands up, singing the song, his eyes looking off into the far distance...)

Gosunkugi: I know somebody and they cry for you,
         They lie awake at night and dream of you.
         I bet you never even know they do, but somebody's crying.

(He walks off and the camera intercuts with shots of Gosunkugi spying on Akane from a third person view; him standing behind a tree, peeking around a building, taking pictures from across a rooftop..)

Gosunkugi: I know somebody and they called your name
         A million times and still you never came.
         They go on loving you just the same,
         I know that somebody's trying.

(He walks out into the busy street and hops onto a bus, his eyes still watery as he dodges looks from the normally jaded townspeople. He keeps on singing the song as he rides along, his voice growing louder with every verse...)

Gosunkugi: So please, return the love you took from me
         Or please, let me know if it can't be me,
         I know when somebody's lieing...
         I know when somebody's lieing...

(As the guitar solo fades in, we see him getting off the bus and walking to a plate glass window, a group of people crowded around it. The camera zooms in to show the band playing in front of a restaurant counter, the partons and fans watching as the Kodachi whips through the song. Behind the microphone, the second Gosunkugi sings again as the song fades back in...)

Gosunkugi: I know that somebody's lieing...
         I know that somebody's lieing...

(We see Gosunkugi leading the band and singing, his clothes are now better looking, his face is less drawn, his eyes are wrapped in a pair of wrap around sunglasses, his hair is styled. The camera zooms into him and we watch he and the band in action...)

Gosunkugi: Give me a sign and let me know we're through
         If you don't love me like I love you.
         But if you cry at night the way I do
         I'll know that somebody's lieing.

(The camera pans the entire room as the chorus fades in again and we see Ryouga holding Ukyou's hand as they watch, Shampoo looking at Mousse with stars in her eyes, Asuka smiling and pointing at Kodachi. and we sees in the corner of the room, a ghostly Akane and Ranma holding hands, watching Gosunkugi and their friends move on from their deaths. They look happy and serene, almost as if they're used to being not of this world...)

Gosunkugi: So please, return the love you took from me
         Or please, let me know if it can't be me.
         I know when somebody's lieing...
         I know when somebody's lieing...

(From the window, the outside Gosunkugi pushes away and walks away from the crowd, his eyes happy and smiling as the last verses fade in, his mouth singing them as he himself begins to fade out, his body getting lighter as he sings...)

Gosunkugi: Oh I....
         Oh I......

(He stops and sings oput the last verse just as he fades out almost completely, the shot being of him smiling and singing in joy, his soul now at peace. The camera then moves over to the last shot; a grave stone with the inscription bearing, "Gosunkugi Hikaru, Gone Too Soon")

Notes: Yep. Another songfic. Another stupid fic about me using a music video to my advantage. And this is one I actually was happy with! Conversely, I want someone to rip this apart because the next time I do one of these, I want it to win a "best of" award. Any takers?
