HUH?? WHATCHA ASKIN'??

The question that I am posing to you, the members of the FFML, is
this: Why are you writing Fanfiction? For what reason do you spend
hours upon countless hours slaving away at the keyboard, nurturing
and perfecting a work of fiction as though it were your child?

Is it because you are shaping up your writing skills for your own
original publication? Do you crave the comments and criticism? Will
your muse just not leave you alone?

Because Ranma-onna and Ryouga belong together and dammit, you're
not going to rest until they are? :)


UM... MAYBE... WHAT KINDA ANSWER ARE YA LOOKIN' FOR?

A sentence. A paragraph. That text file that you copy and paste onto
every fic you post. Three pages of sprawling, heart wrenching poetry.
Anything and everything you send will be much appreciated.

Please send your responses privately to me, jen-chan@home.com, so as
not to clog up and spam the list. I will be compiling any and all
responses that I get, analyzing them, and then putting them up on a
webpage before Christmas.

OOOKAY... SUUUURE... WHY ARE YA ASKIN' THIS??

Because I'm curious. :) Well, I've got two reasons, really.

Firstly, I'm doing this for an English class project worth half
of my final grade. I wanted to do something I was interested in;
anime and fanfiction is up there.

Secondly, I'm hoping that these responses, all compiled and such,
will become a source of inspiration for others, and for myself.
Have you forgotten why you've started writing? Has your muse fled
and left you lost and confused? If even one fic is pushed from
the brink of discontinuation and put back onto 'short hiatus', if
even one author is pulled out of retirement, then I think a bit
of good will have been done for fandom.


HMM... WHAT'S INNIT FOR ME?

The satisfaction of knowing you've helped one girl pass an English
class. :)

I'll also put your name, email, and a link to your work beside your
response. It's the least I can do, and if you'd rather remain
anonymous, then that can be arranged too.

UHH... I'LL THINK 'BOUT IT. ANYTHIN' ELSE I NEED TA KNOW?

I will be accepting these responses any time. The responses I recieve before
December 1, I will use in my english project. My project is due on
December 7th, but I need time to analyze the responses. When I say analyze,
I'm going to be comparing them to responses that my class made on why
people read fantasy fiction. I won't be saying anything negative about what
people write, because I haven't the right to do that.
