Plus he's demonstrated an absolute lack of loyalty towards her, falling in
love with every girl who shows the slightest bit of kindness to him. Akane
was first, that may be true, but he also fell in love with Akari and Ranma
at least once as well. If not for his tendency to faint when seeing a naked
woman, the obvious conclusion would be that he is willing to take advantage
of any girl gullible enough to be interested in him and take the
relationship as far as he can get away with, which is shown by his attempt
to get both Akari and Akane to sleep at his house while they are there, with
pretty easy to read desires for how that night will go on his part.
Add to that the fact that he has tried to win Akane through deceit or
treachery several times, and you get a pretty pathetic individual who it is
hard to believe could have a girl fall in love with him while being
completely honest with her, and one who, even if he DID get the girl, would
probably end up running around with every other nice girl he runs into as
well.
So yes, it is very hard to see Ryouga ending up in a happy marriage to Akane
without involving some kind of deceit on his part.
I've noticed very few fics in which Ryouga wins Akane and a high
proportion of those involve deceit on Ryouga's part. Why is Ryouga
getting Akane any less likely than some of the Ranma matchups?
Well, part of it is because Ryouga's relation with Akane is inherantly
deceitful from the moment he becomes her pet. Part of it is the fact that
while small manipulations to Ranma's past can create an alternate history
matching him with anyone, Ryouga only met Akane because of his pursuit of
Ranma; and didn't show any sign of being attracted to her until she gave
P-chan a kiss.
