Just thought I'd point out something you might want to fix:

The administrator raised an eyebrow. "So *you're* Gen. For someone
pushing 100, you've aged remarkably well. If I didn't know better, I'd
put you at 50, tops."

<snip>

Decades of training, and over a century to ease the emotional pain,
prevented Gen from flinching. "Yes."

There's a bit of a difference here in Genma's age. Is he pushing 100, or
did Ranma die over a century ago?

So, comments on the story:

I did think it was nice that you didn't use the typical angle about Genma
being fat, which is a rather overdone cliche that isn't at all based on
canon. How he managed to go from being a fairly muscular father of Ranma to
a rail-thin father of Shinji, then back to being muscular in time for the
interview is a bit of a problem, as well, but I suppose that could be
attributed to his abandoning martial arts after the death of Ranma, and then
picking them back up again later after Shinji wiped out humanity, which
caused him to realize that martial arts was *not* the issue...

I could be being a bit dense, but I'm not really sure who the only surviving
witness of the incident when the sun went nova was. Both Kiyone and Washu
would probably qualify as being known to give extremely detailed reports, so
it could be either of them, but I'm having trouble figuring out why they
would say 'oops' after the event, since neither was really involved in any
way, at least from the description we're given. Mihoshi certainly wouldn't
be reduced to saying 'oops', if she survived she'd be crying and whining and
yelling 'Kiyoneee!' loud and piercingly enough to cause the *next* nearest
sun to go nova, too, and when she calmed down she'd be babbling on and on
about how sorry she was and such.

Also, it seems odd that there was one surviving witness (whoever it was that
said 'oops') yet the system was able to be evacuated before the sun went
nova. If the system was evacuated, who was there to witness it, and how did
they survive?

I haven't watched Dirty Pair so I can't really comment on the effectiveness
of the punchline, other than to say it fits what little I've heard about the
series.

Anyway, I guess I'll add this to the list of reasons for why I should go out
and buy some of the Dirty Pair series, which I still haven't seen despite
wanting to for a while. Too much anime, so little money... *sighs*
