Prologue: Part 02 - "Ranma's Tale"
(FLASHBACK)
- June 1998 (After Ranma & Akane's High School Graduation - 102 years ago.)
Ranma and Akane both attend the local college and are still unmarried. The pair
are still hounded by the usual bunch of over-sexed boys and girls who refuse to grow up.
In addition, Ranma and Akane are still being pressured to get married by their parents.
In their Junior Year of College, Ranma and Akane finally have had it with the
idiots' antics and decided to "lay the smack down" on their collective asses.
Their first Victim was Ryouga. As P-chan, he made the mistake of wandering into
the room where Ranma and Akane were making out. And of course, seeing Ranma and Akane
sucking face, Ryouga naturally went ballistic and launched himself at Ranma as a porcine
shot. Unfortunately, Ryogua mis-calculates his trajectory and ends up biting Akane in
the face. Akane screams in fear and manages to fling P-chan away from her face
and towards...the kettle...of...hot...water...
Needless to say, the effects were VERY predictable. Ryouga was nearly beaten
to a pulp by a group of very angry schoolgirls and when he wandered back to the Tendo
Dojo as P-chan, Akane and Ranma took him to the vet to get him fixed and shipped him
to Akari's Farm. (Although Akane wanted to turn him into bacon.)
Their next Victim were the Kunous. In Tatewaki's case, it was a lot easier
because he started dating Nabiki and started going through therapy for his delusions.
Kodachi was a little tougher...
To get rid of her, Ranma and Akane simply ambushed Kodachi and beaten her within
an inch of her life and then dumped her at the police station, wrapped with her ribbons,
spiked-clubs, drug packets, and her special black roses. The police, with overwhelming
evidence had Kodachi arrested and jailed and later committed in a psychiatric hospital.
Their next Victim were the Chinese crew. Muu Tsu was arrested for carrying
concealed weapons without a permit and was arrested and deported. Xian Pu and Khu Lon
were also arrested and deported for having expired business visas.
Their last Victim was Ukyou who was forced to sell her shop because of failure
to pay taxes. Although Ranma had thought of Ukyou as a friend and sister, Ukyou's
behavior had become increasingly unstable. The last straw was when Ukyou began
attacking Akane and her family. Ranma was forced to disarm Ukyou and have her arrested
for assault. Ukyou ended also ended up getting committed.
After getting rid of their excess baggage and graduating from college,
Ranma and Akane get married, much to the delight of their parents. After they got married,
the two started attending graduate school. This was the beginning of the end.
At first things were fine between Ranma and Akane and their parents. However, as time
went by, the parents began pressuring them to have children even though they were still in
school. Also, during this time, more and more of the families who made deals with Genma
started showing up at the Tendo Dojo, demanding that Genma fulfill his promises. Of course
Genma being Genma, he left the problems to Ranma and Akane.
With the pressures of school, their parents pressuring them to have children and the
dishonorable promises made by Genma, Ranma and Akane's marriage began to fracture. Since
the two never really learned how to really express or much less deal with their emotions,
they began to take their problems out on each other. At first they had their usual arguments
but as time went by, Akane's legendary temper began to resurface and she began pounding
Ranma with her damnable mallet.
After being severely injured by one of Akane's Mallet Attacks, Ranma decided that
he had enough of Akane's abuse and gives her an ultimatum, either get help to control her
temper or agree to a divorce.
Naturally Akane refuses to undergo anger management, claiming (as always) that it
had been Ranma's fault for her outbursts of anger. Ranma leaves their house and tells Akane
that he would not return until she learned to control her anger.
Akane is in a state of shock for two weeks as she contemplated life without Ranma.
After her two week moping and self-pity period, she finally decides to enroll in an anger
management class.
One day, she was on her way home from her anger management class when she saw Ranma
talking to young lady inside a small cafe. In a flash of intense anger, Akane barges into
the cafe and mallets Ranma (for being a womanizer) and the young lady (for being a hussy &
husband theif). Ranma and the young lady were caught totally by surprise and were knocked
unconscious. They would have died from their injuries if it had not been for Ranma's
cousin, Tenchi Masaki who ran out of the restroom upon hearing the commotion.
Upon seeing his girlfriend and cousin unconscious on the floor and some maniac girl
repeatedly attacking their prone bodies, Tenchi rushes Akane and manages to body tackle
her out of the way and into a group of irate male customers who hold her down while everyone
waited for the police to arrive.
Tenchi's girlfriend and Ranma were rushed to the hospital. Both of them managed to
barely survive (yes, even with Ranma's amazing healing ability) from their injuries, although
Tenchi's girlfriend was forever paralyzed. Akane was charged with two counts of assault
with a deadly weapon and taken to jail. In addition, Akane was also denied bail.
After being released from the hospital, Ranma went to his lawyer and had him
draw up papers for divorce.
Needless to say, the parents were not too thrilled at Ranma's plans for divorcing
Akane. Ranma took his anger out on Genma and Soun and nearly killed them both. Ranma
later told Soun that it had been Soun's fault that Akane never learned how to control her
temper and that even if Akane refused to sign the divorce papers, he would take her to
divorce court and have the marriage dissolved.
Akane's criminal trial was rather quick, taking only a day for presentation of
evidence and diliberation. The verdict was Guilty. Akane was sentenced to 10 years for
assault. The next day, Ranma formally petitioned the court for a divorce from Akane on
the grounds of spousal abuse. Needless to say, after the extensive testimonies from
witnesses, and Akane's criminal case, the divorce was granted.
Akane's 10 year prison sentence was definitely not a walk in the park for her.
Since she never did learn to control her temper, Akane got into numerous fights and was
responsible for starting so many fights that she was placed in solitary confinement for
8 years.
During Akane's prison sentence, Ranma (Age 27) decided to go back to college to
get a second Bachelor's Degree and from there go on to Medical School. Much to his
surprise, he sees a much older and sadder looking Kasumi also attending the same classes
as he was.
He and Kasumi later meet at the student union and Kasumi tells Ranma the story
of her life. An odd parallel of his...
