Just A Little Story

Prologue: Part 04 - "When Ranma met Kasumi (Again)"
Kasumi and Ranma were very surprised to see the other at the same school studying the
same subjects. They reminisced about the old days and about the happier times they had.
As it turned out, Soun and Genma were still at the Tendo Dojo, playing shogi and Nadoka had
pretty much turned into a wife for the both of the two lazy bastards. Nabiki became a very
successful stock broker in Tokyo and Akane and Dr. Tofu were still in prison.
Ukyou had died in a car accident and Ryouga and Akari had gotten married and later
divorced because Ryouga had been "fixed."(1) What was amazing was that Ranma's girl form
turned into a 6 foot tall supermodel which made Ranma ever so popular with the male population
and the lesbians on campus and of course the rest of the female population was not too happy
with Ranma-chan's existance (even though they had no problems with Ranma's normal form).
As time went by, Ranma and Kasumi spent more and more time together and in the summer
before their Senior Year, they moved in together. After they graduated, they got married.
After graduation, they were accepted to medical school where they were the oldest students
of their class.
After graduating from medical school at the top of their class, the two completed
two years of residency at Tokyo General hospital. They did so well that the administration
offered them each a position at the hospital, which they gladly accepted.
In 2040, one of Nabiki's many drug companies developed the Immortality Vaccine(2) which
delivered super-longevity (i.e. +200-300 years of life) and maintained the recipient's youthful
appearance. Ranma and Kasumi were the first to recieve the vaccine as an anniversary present
from Nabiki. One of the side-effects was that with longevity, fertility decreased. This,
however was seen as a good thing as it would prevent the planet from being over-populated in the
worst possible way.
In 2050, Biogenics Corporation developed a Genetic Therapy procedure called Leonization(3)
which promised to deliver the same effects as the Immortality Vaccine at 1/10th the cost. The
procedure required the patient to be placed in a tub of nanites that would correct any health
problems the patient currently had and would help rejuvenate older cells and turn them into
new, younger and healthy cells.
In 2075, the horrors of Leonization were discovered. People around the world who had
recieved the treatment began to spontaneously mutate. At first, there were only a few isolated
cases. But in October of that year, during the Academy Awards ceremony, nearly 98% of the
actors and actresses began to spontaneously mutate on live national and international television.
Biogenics Corporation was quickly placed under FDA investigation and the company's stock
tumbled down to nothing. The resulting investigation found that Biogenics had cut corners in
their testing process and had bribed the FDA officals responsible for overseeing the testing.
The company was shut down and its researchers and board of directors were thrown in prison.
Meanwhile, doctors, geneticists and researchers around the world frantically looked for
a cure or a way to prevent the spontaneous mutation (now called Leonization). Ranma and Kasumi also joined the crusade to find a cure or vaccine for this problem. In December of 2075, they
discovered that the Immortality Vaccine was effective in preventing Leonization from occuring
and would reverse it if the vaccine was administered within two weeks of Leonization.
After finding a vaccine, Ranma and Kasumi searched for a cure for Leonization. And after
ten years of exhaustive research, they discovered the cure in the form of a special pressure point
technique. After testing the technique on a hundred patients and all were cured, they made their
announcement to the world and made the technique freely available to all of their collegues from
around the world. Much to Nabiki's heart ache. :)
In 2095, after the last case of Leonization was cured, Ranma and Kasumi were declared
International Heroes and were awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Humanitarianism. The two
moved back to Nermia and began their own private practice. This time, they did not have to worry
about their parents pressuring them to have children for you see, Soun, Genma, and Nadoka were
killed by Leonization along with untold millions who died because the cure came too late for
them. Akane and Dr. Tofu ended up regressing to a pre-human stage of evolution and were later
killed by the Japanese Defense Force.

The idea of Dr. Tofu being a drunk & alcoholic was from one of the many fanfics I've
read over the years. I believe it was from the original Bet Series, but I'm not sure. If the
