For those of you who are reading this and have no clue as to where some of 
the characterizations come from (especially of the Urusei Yatsura cast), I 
would recommend finding the series "Urusei Yatsura: The Senior Year".  It 
will give you some idea of why Ataru hates Lum, why the Gang of Four are 
reviled be most people, and why I do not rean any UY fanfic by Mr. Herriott.

To be honest, I do not have any problems with authors writing OOC.  But I do 
object to character assassination.

I did read this part, and my main objestion is to the portrayal of both 
casts.  This Akane is similar to Zen's famous portrayal of her in "Bitter 
End", the parents are all written in fanfiction convention, Cologne and 
Happousai turn into all-knowing (but hated) fonts of information, and I'll 
avoid discussing the UY cast since you need to read the UY:TSY series to see 
just how much Mr. Heriott changes the Urusei Yatsura cast.

That's my two cents.  (But the only thing I wonder is why Mr. Heriott ignores 
my favorite UY character?)
