Heh.  I had an idea for this, (it'd be called Extraction, naturally) where
Ranma ended up getting yanked into the real world.  Couldn't decide whether
it would be more interesting to have him on his own, or inhabiting my body
(which he would probably not be very happy with, but then again, neither
would I).  Of course, the problem with this, and the reason I never spent
any real time trying to develop the idea, is that if they're in the real
world, what happens next?  Trying to convincingly make a scenario where such
a thing happens brings up the issue of how the real world would pretty much
suck as far as story material goes.  What would be the point?  Ranma's
attempt to return to Japan, only to find out, assuming he ever got there,
that he was in the wrong universe?  Unless non-real world elements were
used, he could never get home.  So the only real way to make the story
interesting would be for the 'real world' to not be quite as real as
proclaimed, otherwise Ranma just becomes either an ordinary person or an
extraordinary person who will never fit in or belong anywhere.

This is, of course, just my own opinion on the scenario.

I challenge anyone to write a reverse self insert. That is a
"revenge fic" without any revenge or to put another way,
what if the characters from your favorite anime came to our
world?

No they are not aware of the animes and mangas and
fanfiction in our world, at least not until they are here
for a while. Ranma or Ryoga might find out about the Animes,
maybe even the Manga, if they find a store selling them.
Nene would find out about both and the fanfiction on line.
Etc. Etc. Etc. ...
