Tenchi Muyo

Chapter 1 : Resurection

This is Tenchi OAV series.
This would occur some point after episode 14.
So it may be considered alternate universe, and maybe not.

None of these series' belong to me, just using them for my own
writing attempt. This is not a crossover, but any reference to
any other Anime charaters is purely for humorous and or content.

I may have posted this before. But I gave up the original story idea that
this was going
to be part of, a Ranma/tenchi crossover, to focus on this storyline. As
such
chapter 2 is being thrown away and started from scratch.

Let the chaos begin.

****************************************************************

"I ought to face facts. I am going to die."

The lone figure floating in space, her oxygen reserves nearly
depleated. No possible way to contact help. She considered her
options.

<I can try to hold out here for a little while longer, or I can
leave a message for anyone who finds me.>

Her mind made up, she added to the suit's computer the message
she wanted to leave, then shut all systems off.

Her last words were.... "I'm so sorry."

Then the suit shut off, no longer protecting it's passenger
from the cold emptyness around her.

Less than a second later she was frozen, Dead.

Another soul, lost to the void of space.

****************************************************************

Washu was busy in her lab as always.

She had hacked into the galaxy police report archive. After
seaching for several hours through Mihoshi's rather large
report file she had located what she was looking for.

She then launched a probe in secret, not that anyone would be
interested in what she was doing anyway, but she loved the covert
the whole cloak and dagger. The did, after all, have good
reasons to be watching her.

The probe was going to collect sample and run tests in that area
of space. What it actually found, however, actually made her
blood run cold.

She then started building, what most might call an operating
room, in the lab's sub-basement G.

Far away from prying eyes she was assembling several pieces of
equipment that looked like their purpose could only have been
torture.

<ahh, this place is coming together nicely> She thought.
<Perfect for my next experiment>

Meanwhile her probe was on its way back, with some unusual
cargo.

****************************************************************

Four Days Later.

Tenchi was starting to get conserned. Washu had locked her lab
up rather tight and no one had seen or heard from her in several
days.

Strange things had been happening all week. First, Mihoshi
went out to her ship. She claimed that she needed to clean, but
when she came back, it was clear she had been crying. She would
not explain herself, so he was left to wonder what happened.
Washu said that she had not intersepted any comunications from
GP or from Mihoshi's ship.

Mihoshi repeated this all week. No one could, or would figure
out why.

Ryoko was acting in a rather frisky mood all week as well. He
asked her if she was the reason Mihoshi was crying, but Ryoko
swore to her that she would not do something like that. In any
case, he found it harder and harder to complete simple tasks.
Getting out of his chair, for example. He was getting up when
she suddenly materialized in his lap. This happened about four
to 5 times a day, he thought about never leaving the chair, just
to see how she would react.

Add to it Washu had locked everyone out of her lab.

This morning Mihoshi left in the Yokinojo. she said that Washu
had given her a very special report that she was supposed to
read to her superiors immediatly. She said that she would be
back in only a couple of hours. Mihoshi also could not tell
anyone as to what the report said, due to Washu's instructions
not to read it until she could give it to Galaxy Police.

Now Tenchi was not Psyhic, but his danger sense was tripping in
the nine point five range. He knew SOMETHING was about to go
down here, something BIG. But what......

****************************************************************

Insert Eye rolling cliche here about Murphy's law, or fanfic
writers being predictible, or whatever else applies.

But dear readers..... You will not be dissappointed.

****************************************************************

<Almost done> Thought Washu.

She was looking over a set of controls, and a timer on countdown
currently with a little less than 17 minutes remaining.

<Time to tell the Gang what is going on.>

****************************************************************

Tenchi was watching TV with Ayeka, Ryoko and Sasami, when they
heard someone clearing their throat. they turned to see a very
dirty looking Washu.

Her clothes were both wet, burned around a few edges, and ripped
in places. She herself seemed rather tired and in need of sleep
and a bath.

Tenchi was the first to speak up.

"Well, hello there Washu. What have you been up to?"

"Everyone please follow me. I have something I need to show you
down in the lab."

She smiled slightly, then her fatures returned their previous
worn out state.

Washu then turned around, and slowly walked back into her lab.

She was followed immediately by Sasami, who wanted to see what
the genius had done. Ryo-Ohki was perched on her head, and she
too wanted to know what was going on.

Tenchi, Ryoko and Ayeka gave each other uneasy glances before
they too walked into the lab.

****************************************************************

Darkness, complete Darkness.

She felt like she was falling, falling into nothingness.

She tried to scream, but she had no voice.

As she tried to understand what was happening, she noticed a
flicker of light, and it seemed like it was getting closer.

It WAS geting closer, she was falling toward it.

She could not try and stop from falling, she could not feel her
limbs.

She was plummeting toward it faster, or was it coming to her?

****************************************************************

Washu was standing in front of a large Metal cylinder upon which
Large cables, and strange machines were attached.

To one side was a control panel upon which a countdown was at
five minutes.

Sasami looked over at this large bulk with wide eyes. "What is
it Washu?"

Washu again cleared her throat. She turned to the console and
pressed a button.

The sides of the cylinder became to seperate. The was in fact,
a large tank, but it was the naked female inside that caught
everyone's attention.

"Everyone, I would like you to meet............"

****************************************************************

Mihoshi had finished docking, and had given the uplink code.

A viewscreen appeared with her superior, Lieutenant Daki.

"Mihoshi? What is it? We did not ask for any reports? What
did you do NOW?"

Mihoshi began sobbing at the grilling, which caused Lt. Daki to
begin a sweatdrop.

"I am sorry sir, but the report isn't mine. It's from Washu.
Please don't be mad at me!"

"Umm......" As Lt. Daki figeted at his desk, knowing that
several others were in hearing range. He tured his head away
from the screen, and mumbled an apology.

Mihoshi then picked up the PADD and pressed the on button.

Instead of displaying information, it left Mihoshi's grip and
began to hover in mid-air. then on top of it a Hologram bust of
Wahu appeared.

It was a recording and it began to speak in the direction of Lt.
Daki.

"I apoligize for making Mihoshi make a false report to you, but
I had reasons for getting her away from earth of a litle while,
and when you hear them, you will understand.

I could have made the report to you directly, and I will be in
contact soon, but I have something of great significance that
you need to be aware of.

I was searching space in search of information regarding some
phenomanon that Mihoshi had described to me once, when I found a
body.

It was humanoid, and was curious as to it's identity.

It further interested me when the body, which was frozen, was
wearing a space suit that bore the insignia of the Galaxy
Police.

The suit was still showing power. The wearer had decided to die
so that a personal message could be stored for anyone who would
find her.

I listened to the message myself and I felt bad for this person.
I had the body brought back to my lab, where I was going to
perform some high level scans on it, and then bury it properly.

While performing one such scan I noticed how intact the brain
was. I also identified who it was.

I wondered how plausible it would be to try to re-animte the
body, and so I began to thaw her out. I also replaced her left
arm since it had been damaged considerably, and much had broken
away and I was unable to locate it.

The last four days have been very touch and go, however I was
able to warm her and repair most tissue and nerve damage.

While you are listening to this I will be finishing the last
stage of the re-animation. I will provide my findings to anyone
who wishes them.

As to the Identity of the person. This is why I needed Mihoshi
there with you.

Her name is Dective Kiyone Makibi."

The image faded out.

While Washu's Hologram had been talking Lt. Daki had been joined
by several other individuals who were interested in this tale.

Meanwhile Mihoshi had been listening and her eyes had started to
water.

At the moment Washu said her final word, Lt. Taki began to spit
his tea out rather violently. Many of the surrounding mass drew
in a quick breath.

However, that was nothing compared to Mihoshi's reaction.

As Yokinojo desperatly tired to disengage from the communication
array's docking cradle, Mihoshi had stopped crying. Her pupils
had dialated, and she was dead stiff for a moment before she had
wrenched the thruster controls into full speed. She deactived
all emergency safety overrides and pushed the engines harder.
Her ship tore away from the array with an explosion, and sent
the tiny craft spinning into space.

Mihoshi was like a demon possesed. She cut all power to any
ship system she could find to divert to the thrusters. Yokinojo
kept turning life support back on, despite her angry screaming.
She manipulated the directional thrusters so that the ship was
no longer spinning wildly. Then pointed toward Earth, and
began to force the engines harder.

As Mihoshi kept forcing more and more power through the
engines, the ship began to rattle. Yokinojo tried show Mihoshi
that the hull was starting to buckle, and that a breech was
immeniant, but she still held her stance. She did not even
divert her eyes toward him.

Then she spoke flatly. "I Don't Care. Nothing matters anymore
but one thing."

Then she managed to shut him off too.

****************************************************************

The word echoed in Tenchi's mind over and over. Kiyone.

The tank was filled was a fluid which had a slight blue tint.
Suspended in the liquid was a woman. She was naked, so that
made the gender easy to identify.

She looked to be in her mid twenties. Her long Teal colored
hair was stretching outward and upward, giving a halo like
effect. She was wearing a breathing device, and one could see
her chest enlarge slightly each time she took a breath. Her
eyes were covered by dark ski mask type goggles. Other than her
breathing, there was little else to tell if she was still alive.

Tenchi had to hold himself in restraint, his nose bleeding a
high volume. He turned his back to the tank, so he could get
it under control.

"But I thought she was dead Washu?" Asked Sasami. She was
frightened at the whole scene in front of her.

Washu turned around, seemed to ponder for a moment before she
answered "Well Sasami, to tell you the truth she still is."

Ayeka took a step back, and Tenchi whirled around to face Washu.

"What do you mean by STILL?" was the almost unison response
from both of them.

Washu stood there looking into Tenchi's eyes. It was obvious
that she was not in a kidding mood.

"Let me explain this." she said. "You remember the story that
Mihoshi told us about her greatest adventure? I was curious
about the effect that the machine had on subspace. So I hacked
into the Galaxy Police main computer system, so I could get the
location where this all happened. I tell you the GP need better
security protocols.

By the way Ryoko, did you know you have three days to make an
appearance at the Nova Prime's Octoberfest or you will forfit
your title as the most intoxicated? The file states that your
lack of attendance will make you a wanted woman there.

Anyway, I sent out a probe to pick up debris, and to have closer
equipment to scan the area around for anything strange. but
strange is not even the correct word to describe finding Kiyone.

I decided to bring her body back, so at least she could be
buried properly. It would be what I would want, so it was the
least I could do. When I got her back I thought I would test
out a couple of new pieces of scanning equipement I had just
finished building. She was dead, what would she care.

On the third test I ran, I was shocked to discover that my
machines were detecting brain wave activity.

Impossible I thought, but I recalibrated the machines and got the
same result. It was almost as though she would not give up life.

I have spent the last four days trying my hardest to save her
life Tenchi. That is why I locked up my lab. I did not need any
more distractions. Between building equipment to repair her, and
monitoring her condition I have not had any sleep since I found
her."

Now it was obvious why Washu was as ragged as she looked.

Washu was looking at Tenchi in a most unusual manner, she was
actually trying to gain his forgiveness.

Tenchi looked into her eyes, he wanted to hear the rest of the
story. "what did you do to her Washu-chan?"

"I had to think fast. The freezing process had been perfect,
almost too perfect in fact.

(Somewhere in Asgard, Skuld sneezed)

I had to get blood flowing in her brain, so I used an improved
form of an external heart. It supplied her brain with Oxygen,
and minerals needed to repair damage.

I then had to repair the damage to her left arm. It was severed
possibly by some of the debris that floated near her. In any
case I could not find it to reattach it, so I made a new one.
I built it so it would be just like her other arm, including
connecting it to the arms own severed nerves. If I don't tell
her I replaced it, she may never know.

Then I dropped her in the tank her to warm her up. I have not
had to repair much tissue damage but I did repair muscule
attropy. It did get a little difficult when I switched the job
of pumping blood back to her own heart. It was touch and go
there, so I did not risk sleep for myself. It has been a very
long four days, and I will be glad when it is over.

However I am proud to say that she is doing fine and will be
awake shortly. It was nothing for the greatest scientific mind
in the universe."

Her last statement was done without her usual amount of energy,
but still held confidence, and she even seemed proud of herself.

Again she looked at Tenchi, and was met with a smile.

At this time the countdown on the control panel hit 00:00. This
was followed by a buzzing noise.

Washu turned back to the tank, and said "Well, here we go. Time
to wake up sleeping beauty."

With that she manipulated the controls. Another buzzer sounded
followed by the tank begining to drain. Kiyone was slowly
being laid down on the bottom. Once finished warm mater ran
into the tank, and was agitated to cause air bubbles to obscure
view. Then the water too was drained, and the side of the tank
began to lower.

****************************************************************

..........Still falling but the light was ever so close.

She felt like she had been falling forever, but she had no way
of knowing.

Then the light seemed to consume her...........

****************************************************************

Tenchi went over to Kiyone, and was about to reach out to
touch her when she began to stir slightly.

In the Background Washu was holding up a sign saying...
"ITS ALIVE!!! ITS ALIVE!!!"

She was immediatly beaned over the head with it by Ayeka.

"Everyone!" Washu wispered. "Don't make any sudden moves, she
will be disoriented so remain calm no matter what."

Kiyone sat up slightly, and slowly pulled off her mask. She
also removed the goggles.

<Where am I?> she thought. She looked around and stopped. She
started to recognize a couple of the faces. One was Princess
Ayeka of jurai, and another was her little sister Sasami.

But her eye grew wide when she turn toward the floating woman
with the Cyan hair.

<ohmyKami, its Ryoko!!> She kept staring at Ryoko, who not
quite understanding why she was being watched, raised her hand
and waved slightly.

Out of the corner of her vision she noticed an outstretched hand
toward her. She turned just enough to see a young man smiling
at her.

Kiyone lifted her own hand shakily, and grabbed Tenchi's.

Where am I? She asked. "Is this Galaxy police? And why are you
all dressed up like that? Why the heck am I naked?!?"

Several puzzled looks were returned toward her.

As Kiyone struggled to hide herself, Washu's console appeared
in front of her, she pressed a button and a robe dropped in
front of Kiyone. She quickly grabbed it and threw it over her
shoulders.

"Dressed like what?" Asked Sasami.

Kiyone got her own puzzled look, before pointing toward Sasami.

"Well... you look like Princess Sasami of Jurai and you look
like Princess Ayeka", pointing toward Ayeka,"... and you...."
she turned toward Ryoko, "..look just like..."

"..who I am." Ryoko interuppted with a slight smile.

Now, poor Kiyone couldn't handle the stress of meeting one of
Galaxy Police's most wanted, a woman reknown for her violence,
just sit there, smile, then wave at her.

Kiyone simply passed out, and fell limp into Tenchi's arms as
he grabbed her.

****************************************************************

(a Little while later)

Kiyone opened her eyes again, and noticed she was laying on a
couch. A damp cloth was on her forehead.

She sat up and noticed that she was wearing her modified Galaxy
police uniform. the normal slacks had been replaced by long
black leggings and, and the white miniskirt. leg warmers and
black shoes hid her rather cute feet.

Her Uniform button down collared shirt was tied at the bottom,
and several of the top buttons were undone showing off her long
sleeved, turtleneck shirt.

She did not remember putting it on, but it was warm and
comfortable. She put the sleeve to her nose and took in a whif.
She was surprised to get a freshly washed scent.

Kiyone then sat up and looked around. She did not recognize
where she was. She could see out the patio doors that focused
on the lake.

She got up and walked over to get a better view. She figured
out the door latch, opened it and stepped outside.

She stood there taking it all in. The smell of sweet flowers
and the humid air of the lake. She felt like she was in paradice
and wished that it wasn't a dream. It was too vivid and calming.

Kiyone was soaking in all the nature when she heard voices off
to her right. She turned to see Ayeka and Ryoko having one of
their usual fights. Well, it was starting out like usual,
anyway.

Kiyone walked over toward them, and was about to ask them where
in the galaxy she was, when the fight escalated. (as usual.)

Ayeka's battle logs began to form, and Ryoko was readying up an
energy sword.

Kiyone stopped, shocked. "You two really are Princess Ayeka
and the Criminal Space Pirate Ryoko."

Ryoko stopped, and looked away from from the battle to view the
speaker, as did Ayeka.

"Thats what I said before, didn't I?" Chuckled Ryoko.

"Indeed, you were correct in your previous identifications."

Kiyone stepped back with a worried look on her face, complete
with her cheek begining to twich.

"Where am I? What is this place? Am I an hell?"

She felt a tug on her sleeve, and turned to find Sasami smiling.

"No, silly. This isn't hell. This is Tenchi's home."

"um......"

Kiyone felt a tap on her other arm, and she turned to face
Washu. Washu was also smiling.

"Oh hello miss Washu, I see you are back from your soak in the
bath." came from Ayeka.

Washu looked at Kiyone. "Perhaps I can answer your questions
Kiyone. First of all, I would like to introduce myself. I was
the one that found your body in space and that brought you back
to life. My name is Washu. Behind me are Princess Ayeka of
Jurai, and Ryoko, who is my daughter. Behind you are Princess
Sasami and her furry friend is Ryo-Ohki, who is also a creation
of mine."

Kiyone was surprised to say the least. Not only was Ryoko not
a spawn of a demon, but she had a mother.

Washu Continued..."We are at the Masaki Shrine located in the
hills of Japan, a govermental and cultural province upon Jurai
colonized planet number 0315, known as Earth."

Kiyone pondered this for several seconds. Meanwhile Ayeka and
Ryoko had decided to go inside to watch a television show.

Then Kiyone got a look, and put forth her next question.
"When you said bring me back to life, what did you mean?"

Washu sighed, but keep her gaze.
"I found your dead body floating in space. I brought it back
here so It could be buried properly. But I found that your
brain was still functioning, and that your body was strangly in
such condition that I could repair it, well most of it anyway."

There was a short pause

"Don't ask me exactly, because I did not waste any time running
tests on you to figure out how it was possible, but here you are,
alive and healthy. I would go up to the shrine and give thanks
to whatever diety you worship for your incredible luck."

(authors note: need to add something here, I can tell, but I
can't think of what. Any ideas would help.)

"How did you find my body in space, it is rather vast."

"You partner Mihoshi, who is also a guest here, told us the tale
of your last adventure, so I broke into the GP mainframe
computer and found the location of the engagement."

Kiyone found herself both shocked, amused, and upset. No one
at GP had went to look for her, they had just left her body.

"I guess I owe you a thank you, for having the decency to wish
my body buried properly."

Washu smiled slightly, and motioned for Kiyone to follow her.

They began to walk up the shrine steps. Upon reaching the top
Washu pointed over toward a verticle stone, with several Kanji
on it.

"That is where Tenchi's mother is. Tenchi's grandfather, who
is actually Yosho, First Prince of Jurai, gave me permission to
lay you to rest near there.

He aggrees with me that all of us will probably be here
forever."

Kiyone finally looked at Washu, and asked..."So, WHY are you all
here then?"

"Do you remember when you first woke up in my lab? There was a
young man who offered you his hand to help you up. He is the
reason. He is Tenchi, and we are all guests in his home.

We all have a different reason, but they all involve him."

Washu looked out toward the lake, and Kiyone got a view of the
sunset. She thought to herself about how beautiful it was.

Washu told her that it was getting close to dinner time. So
they headed back down the steps.

"One last question Washu. You said Mihoshi was also a guest
here."

"Yes"

"Is she here right now?"

"No, we would have seen the smoke and felt the shock wave. I
erected a field around the area to protect the house and shrine
from damage."

****************************************************************

Meanwhile at GP Headquarters.......

Lt. Daki had just finished reading a communication from Washu.
He was expected to make a report to the Admiral, as to what had
happened earlier.

Washu had been rather detailed in her full report. The most
important part of it had to be the results. Kiyone was alive.

He openly sighed and opened the view window. The Admiral
appeared at his desk.

Lt. Daki saluted, and began his report.

Several minutes later the Admiral had a pretty good idea of what
happened.

"... and the last image that Yokinjo was able to send before the
communication array exploded was that of Mihoshi. She had this
lost look in her eyes."

The Admiral sat in pondering thought for several minutes. He
turned in his chair slightly.

"You do know what this means, don't you Luitenient?"

"uh.... Not quite sir."

"Kiyone was honorably promoted because of her sacrifice in the
line of duty. Now that she is alive her Rank and Commision is
still in effect.

I will take the responsibility of passing the good news to her
parents. But I will leave you with several important things to
do.

First, Kiyone's Ship, the Yugami, is still gathering dust in
Docking ring 12. It needs to be returned to her.

Secondly, you will need to send some personell to give her the
commodation.

Thirdly, Assign Kiyone to the same sector that Mihoshi is under.
Jurai will also have to be notified.

And finally, get Mihoshi in here for testing. Your description
of her may be the rusult of some mental dysfunctionality that we
were not aware of.

Let me know when these are underway.

End transmission."

Lt. Daki was a bit relieved. The worst part of the job was not
his problem. He did have quite abit ahead however, so he sent
message to Dectective sargents Korosu and Miomi to report to his
office on the double.

****************************************************************

OK, now, I have to write Chapter 2.

Oh my goodness, what have I done?

Here is my take on the whole thing. Kiyone is the daughter of
a family that is a little bette off then most. They can afford
to give their daughter a ship, as a going away gift when she
joined the GP. So the Yugami is actually her property.

I will clear up any other details on a rewrite, but I am in need
of feedback on this as to wether or not it has merit.
