This is the eleventh part of Comes the Cold Dragon. Part Twelve is about
fifty-percent complete in draft. I hope to have it out to pre-readers by
the end of this week.
C&C welcome,
Don Granberry.
You owe me a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew, Don.. I was
drinking one when I got to the scene where Akane faceplants on
the ambulance and breaks her nose. I laughed so hard, I sprayed
Dew out of my OWN nose, and spilled the bottle! ^_^
Well at least I don't owe you for a keyboard as well.
As for the mysterious smith.. Vulcan, or at least the
Japanese version of the same, correct? Seems almost every race
has a myth of the lame yet quite powerful blacksmith/craftsman.
Hephasteus, actually. I'm partial to the Greek versions of the legends. The
Japanese have a god of smiths as well, but his name eludes me at the moment.
Nabiki's bracelet.. ties in with your other story, no?
The one where the nisei American marine shows up and sweeps Nabi
off her feet? Can't recall the name, and what I have of that
story's on my other machine at the moment, which isn't hooked up.
*bleah*
Yep, this is the bridge to _Spreading Wings_.
Oh, in regards to that, I know you're a little behind on
your web site.. perhaps I could host that other story for you, if
you'd like? I can't seem to find it anywhere else on the web.
Well, Brian Payne (www.sofaspud.org) is hosting it at the moment. I'm
planning to do a .pdf version of the yarn, complete with nice page layout
and artwork. I may even throw in an MP3 or two.
I can see the war coming, too. The People's Republic has
its own pride, and the upcoming war is about as difficult to predict
as a train crash when the locomotive's on a dead end track.
Ever hear of "The Great Runaway Scrape?" Yep, there really was a battle
named that.
This one was fun, and I really enjoyed it. It's great to
see you back in writing form, and I'm having a wonderful time
with your stories.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, Ed.
Hope to see part 12 soon..
Ed Becerra
Thanks,
Don Granberry.
