Great  seeing so much of this new chapter. I'll move right

Looking forward to it.

Warning, it gets limey in some spots.

No problem.

Feh! I would never do something like that in letting any of my stories into
go into hibernation. Really. :)

Of course not.

BTW: I would recommend sending these 161K chapters (Large by even my
standards) in at
least two sections. Makes C+Cing them easier. I'm doing it in two parts, so
as not to overload myself and going braindead towards the end of the fic.
Putting final versions in one part on your website is okay, though.

Yeah, I guess I got too excited with finally having finished it.  ^_^

And so it begins. Two uses of 'light' close together. I'd switch the second
to 'the sun'. Or 'sand, an illusion caused by' either way should work.

Two 'briefly's close together. Might want to drop the second.

Hmm. Looks like someone made a wrong turn here, unlike the last world. :)

Actually, this was meant to show that a divergence had occurred.  Where there
was once one timeline, now there are two.

Lots of 'suddenly's here and earlier. I use the same word too much from time
to time as well. I'd cut some of them.

Yeah, it is my favorite word to use too much of the time.

True. Life exists out in the desert, but frequently chooses to stay out of
sight.

Yep.

Unless you mean the Tenchi villain, which I assume is the one. Or is it a
different Kain?

Nope.  It is that Kain, the one from Tenchi.

Shogun: Damn! Try to save money by walking instead of taking a cab, and look
what it gets you. Eradicated and assimilated by a guy that goes around as an
inkly black cloud and wears a facemask. Couldn't I have gotten whacked by
someone with style, like Kagato? He even played an organ, just like a cool

Ah, so that was going to be his fate here as well. Interesting.

Nope.  His actions bifurcated the timeline, forming the one that leads to the world of QD.

The Shogun's or Kain's? Not clear there.

Kain's.  Will correct that to be more clear.

them? Who is Kain thinking of besides himself?

The Shogun.  In the instant of merging, he saw the Shogun's death on the original
version of the timeline, the S 1/2 one modified by Ranma's actions and finished off
by Ranko's appearance by means of the Sliders-like device she has.

Originally, this was going to be the Shogun himself who cast his essence back
through time, essentially creating a time loop.  This is possible when you take into
account the existence of multiple timelines already coexisting.  I dropped this one
because it felt too tightly tied to your story.

Making a duplicate instead? Interesting.

Yep.  A vessel suitable to survive in, a tulpa.

True.

They were nothing but a bunch of annoying treehuggers anyway.

And with Tenchi and his sister becoming royal bodyguards, the rest of Kain's
plan offers a delicious revenge on the children of Jurai.

Hmmm. Do I see a hint of foreshadowing in that sentence there? I think the
words chosen are not so random.

Nope, they are not.  This is the birth of Shadowlaw in this timeline.

At least until Ranma gets involved a thousand years later, then you'd better
watch out. All it takes is another 30 chapters, and you'll be toast. :)

Kain: We shall see.  I have not waited, schemed, and planned for almost four
thousand years only to be defeated by children.

Yes.  He needs a woman who either already hosts the symbiote or does not
reject it.  Kasumi's body has been rejecting any fertilized ovum for that reason.
