Hello.  

I must say you kept us on the edge of our seats, waiting to find out really
what it was that powered Ranma's chi attack.  

There was only one thing which didn't strike my fancy in this fic, which is
the theory that Ranma is "afraid" of Akane, or that he thinks she hates him.
I disagree with this.  Even though he's a little thick-headed, I'm sure he
knows that Akane is not always pleased with him.  He is aware that she's mad
at him a lot of the time, although sometimes he might not know exactly WHY
she's mad (like in the "bust battle" arc in vol 34 of the manga).

But I think "hate" or "afraid" is too strong a word or an emotion to
describe what goes on between Ranma and Akane.  She does NOT hate him, and
he KNOWS that.  Ranma being the transparent idiot that he was would surely
find it hard to keep ANY feeling to himself (remember his poker face?).  And
besides, I truly cannot find any reason WHY Ranma would think Akane hated
him.  In the manga (which is my preferred text of reference), Akane is NOT
the violent freak that she's often portrayed as in the anime (it's one of
the things I dislike about the anime).  In the manga, Akane usually only
hits Ranma when he teases her or when she catches him with his other girls
(in short, he had it coming), or to stop other girls from glomping him
(okay, it's unfair to Ranma, but it did stop them, didn't it? ^_^) or when
she's in one of her jealous rages (which you can hardly equate to "she hates
him" when she's acting that jealous).  And she hardly calls him a pervert,
unlike in the anime or in other fanfics.  And in the manga, there are a lot
more stories about Ranma and Akane working together, or walking together, or
even blushing together where they REALLY look and act like a real couple
(which they cut out of the anime, darn it, these were the best parts).

Of course, that's just me, being the rabid Ranma and Akane fan that I am.  I
have no illusions about these two, they have a lot of things to work out,
they're not perfect, but hey, that's what I LIKE about them.  Their
character and their spirit and 
the way they work things out each other and sometimes fight for each other.
NOT because they're cardboard cutouts of a perfect couple.

But hey, you don't have to listen to me, it's YOUR fic. =)
