Not that there is anything wrong with that.

The story starts off with Ranma being born as the second child of
Neo-Queen Serenity.  Now for some unknown reason Usagi is
uncharacteriscally cruel in her treatment of her second child.

Okay, stop right there.

Now, if you are going to be trying to change Usagi/NQS like that, you better 
have a very good explanation why she is changing her usual pattern of 
behavior so much.

[My eyes kind of glazed over after reading that far, and after a few more 
attempts, I just could not bear to finish it.  Uncharacteristically, it is, 
but why is it?  Does she have a hard-on for snubbing all males?  Is she 
really under the influence of the Dark Moon?  Maybe the plot's akin to a 
subplot of Chrono Trigger, where the Chancellor is kidnapped and impersonated 
by one of Magus' minions in order to overthrow the Guardia Kingdom.  I mean, 
the story doesn't have to immediately come out and say "This isn 't really 
NQS; she's just possessed by Metallia," but it needs some form of hinting 
that there's something wrong, that this isn't normal; otherwise, no one's 
going to give a flying fig about the story.]
