I've checked sevral RK sites for this info but have come up dry. At
about what episode does the year go from being 1878 to 1879? Also, if
anyone could give me a reasonable idea as to what time of year the first
episode happened it would be helpful.

Lastly, was there ever any info on just what part of Japan Kenshin was
from? Oh, and just to check, Kenshin's parents died in a cholera
epidemic, right? It's been a while since I watched the OAVs.
