Neon Genesis Evangelion
UTTERLY POINTLESS SPECULATION

It had come down to this. The most ancient of dramas,
enacted time and again over the millenia by
unsuspecting fools that knew not the power of the
ritual they engaged, sometimes on a daily basis.

Fear should have dominated the minds of the two beings
vying for power through this simple yet complex
substitution for the universe's deepest wisdom, but
the
only energy that ran through their veins was the
knowledge that one of them would soon be declared the
superior and another would be decried and mocked
undyingly as the inferior.

Yes, it was a fair match, for the ritual leveled the
playing field enough that neither had the advantage.

And yet...

All contests have a winner, even if that winner is
only
the endless circle Entropy.

So it began, the chant which called forth ancient
deities long ago created to watch over this sanctified
ceremony:

"ROCK, SCISSORS, PAPER!"

A rock.

A sheet of paper.

Zachiel smirked at his fellow Angels. "Suuuckers! I'll
see _you_ losers in Tokyo-3. NYAHAHAHAHAHA!" He
sauntered out of the door and into the future.

Once he was certain that Zachiel couldn't see him,
Sandalphon flipped the bird. "Man, I hate that guy. I
almost hope the humans waste him..."

NOTES

Well, I wrote this after reading almost all of
Children
of an Elder God in one night (not recommended, folks)
and just got to thinking... how low could I sink?
It could have been worse. I could have written a
Gendo/Fuyutsuki yaoific... (Hmm. My Evil Clone is 
inspired...)

That is NOT a comment on either RpM or Sir Biles,
however. I am, in fact, quite in awe of their
integration of those two mythos. (mythii? Naah.)

When I figured out what they were hinting at with
Ritsuko... Very cool.

So what's the pointless speculation? Nothing, of
course. I just wanted to see if the title would trick
anyone in. 

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Anyway, (news for the four or so people who read me)
I'll have another chapter of Slayers: NIBUNNOICHI 
posted tomorrow, and maybe a more serious NGE
