Heh. Well, I've never seen either of the series involved (ah, but the things
I've heard from those who have) so I really don't get the humor in the
scene. It can be taken as a tribute to the skills of the writer that that's
_all_ I don't get - not, of course, that anything but the punchline
_matters_ in such a short piece, but the lead-in itself is satisfactory even
without any series knowledge.

Wow. Another series I haven't seen (dear God, why am I even _on_ this list
anymore?) but even still even yet... there's a very nice dose of terror
here, even if the causes are tied to the canon.
Heh. Probably the best way to check whether your story can stand on its own
is to have an ignoramus like me read it. That said, this _does_ manage to
not only stand but give me a nice kick to the terror cortex. Creepy, and
well worth the five minutes it'll take to read, assuming you have archives
like me...

Well, never having seen episode 10 or the series (I'm going to just nip off
and shoot myself now) I can't say what's spoiler and what's not. I do know
this is a very, very touching piece of prose which manages to manipulate my
emotions rather expertly at the end. I'm not sure whether it works better as
this or as a slightly longer back-and-forth over the course of the day...
hmm. I do know it certainly doesn't lose any message with everything
happening in retrospect, and the execution is probably best left in a short
period of time. Excellent work.

Title Summary:

Episode Summary:
The game takes to the middle of the board as a dark Knight makes his
move. The pieces creep to make the tableau, as the main players mirror
each other, making preparations for the trap...
You know, in the summary you're supposed to give some idea of what actually
_happens_. The preceding is just as valid for something based on, say, Sonic
Adventure 2. (Adrian? You still there? Give us a wacky something that'd fit
this perfectly, there's a good chap.)
The story still seems... "detached in time" is the best way I can put it.
Things happen, and the scenes are really quite something, don't get me
wrong. But there seems to be a very clear cut-off between the world as the
scene relates to it and the world in general, that even if things _are_
happening offscreen we don't get any hint until they overlap. I know the
story's put together too well for us to suddenly pan up to the Autozam fleet
readying a few dozen planet-buster bombs, but... the feeling I get is that
something of that magnitude _could_ be happening and I wouldn't know about
it until the bombs hit.
Which might itself not be a bad thing.
But the story _is_ a rather complex thing, and there are so many little plot
threads weaving in and out. It'd be hard to keep track of all of them
outside the main weave, but there's always a little disorientation when the
focus shifts, though I can't put my finger on exactly what makes it so
pronounced.
Perhaps just my own failings. I'd certainly recommend this story heartily
from a technical perspective.

Summary:

Recently posted in its completed form.
Complete, yes. Have to say, you shifted gears very nicely going into the
fifth chapter. Real Robot combat works very nicely with your style.
It's just that... eh. The epilogue feels a bit too heavy-handed in places,
and I'm not sure how many of the scenes were needed, or if more shouldn't
have been added... as good as the ride has been, it takes a lot of finesse
to soft-land it. And the landing felt a little jagged.
Can't really comment on the story proper as far as canon goes, having never
seen &c (o/` Oh God, I'm dyyyyying.... o/`), but I will say the ride was
smooth, though on the whole it seemed to flow more naturally when you were
setting up plot points than when you were resolving them.

Ah, I went back and read this from the beginning. I don't know the canon
(like that's a shock, now) but I feel like I haven't missed a beat. The
chapter itself is a worthy addition to a worthy series - the characters are
nicely fleshed out, the plot proceeds not too slow to bore and not too fast
to lose, and all in all I'd recommend reading it - well, unless the first
few chapters pushed a few personal buttons.

Episode: 7, 8, 9, and 10
Part of me is having trouble buying it, really. If you've _done_ research
into this, it doesn't show - keep in mind, I mean that in a _good_ way.
Having a massive chunk of exposition blindside you isn't a very enjoyable
reading experience. In some circles, they call it "I've suffered for my art,
now it's your turn". I'm _not_ detecting any massive chunks of exposition,
so if you _have_ researched this, it's coming across smoothly.
But still, it's rather hard to relate. Being first the wrong gender and
second about as sexually apt as Ranma when this whole story began, and very
likely to stay that way (though I _did_ have a head injury when I was six.
Hmm.) I can't find very much that I can tie into _my_ real life.
All in all, you're trying to make Ranma... "more real", I suppose. More
visceral, more concerned with consequences. Which, unless there's a Massive
Translator Conspiracy, the original manga really _never_ was. Trying to
_fit_ the characters into the sort of story you're trying to tell leaves a
few ideological rough spots. And I'm not the sort of reader to ignore them,
even though pretty often they stand in the way of something that would
otherwise be rather engaging.
But hey, all you folks out there who can still shunt your brains to "damn
the logic, this stuff is good", the story is very well-realized internally.
Enjoy before you find yourself a cynical shell, like yours truly.

Has their contract not been in effect long enough?
Yes, yes, being an evil demon means never having to act logically, but
_acid_...
Aside from the diablo ex machina, it's a decent part, though not much really
_happens_.

use the Governor's map. Does this sound oppressive? Don't worry - the
Governors believe in freedom, as long as we do as we're told. On the
moon of the gas giant, two great imperial fleets, the Oni and the Jurai,
gather to prepare for the latest battle in a centuries-long war. The
moon is called Doozy Sack, also known as Shantyworld.
Episode Summary:
North of the ports is the great Rim Crater. Within its basin lies the
largest agricultural center on Doozy Sack. Compared to the chaos of the
Port city, it is tranquil, pastoral, idyllic land, except for the
occasional smuggler... and rumors of Jurai expatriates... and militia
armies who plan to overthrow the Governors. Into this potential disaster
comes a lone okonomiyaki chef.
Good stuff. Good stuff. If you liked the sci-fi-and-Ranma feel in Saotome
Gambit, it's a little grimmer and gritter here, and there aren't as many
mecha, but it's still a wonderful and engaging gestalt. I recommend it.

I'm probably not the first to say that the series started off rather
improbably, but _given_ the original assumptions this is a pretty good
chapter, all things told. Resolving plot lines is going fairly well here,
though that may be because you're starting up new ones at the same time. The
proof, I guess, will be when this story starts wrapping up, but the cruise
control you have things on now is decently executed.

In Nerima, highly erroneous conclusions about Akane's disappearance are

Hmm. I imagine you're taking the anime version of Sailor Moon, or at least
cutting the manga version off before the final scene in Stars.
Anyway.
Good scenes, all around. No, really, they were. The little touches kept them
from being generic, and it's nice to see Takahashi-style Entirely Wrong
Conclusions drifting around. Akane is, paradoxically, about the only
Nerimite who could settle down in Juuban _without_ becoming much of a loose
cannon, and the group scenes are nicely realized without becoming too busy.
Good stuff. I look forward to more. It will be very interesting to see how
you balance Senshi and martial arts - I expect you'll succeed, but it's
never been very easy.

It's just enough temporal physics to be plausible and just enough so that
I'm looking at it and wondering what you were smoking.
Cosmic temporospatialdynamics are as much a religion as they are a science.
Time has been postulated as an illusion that connects an arbitrary
progression of static states. (You actually don't _need_ time to make the
truly important equations balance out.) When it gets right down to it, how
the universe works on this level is more a matter of belief than fact, and
_my_ temporal worldview is different from what the story spells out. Which
means all the exposition about the nature of time and reality and alternate
dimensions just sorta grates more than it informs.
I'm _pretty_ sure Mistress 9 and Pharoah 90 have different reasons for the
numbers. Then again, my manga knowledge is pretty unclear as regards Sailor
Moon. ...come to think of it, that's how I feel about a lot of what goes on.
There's blank space that you're filling with something that certainly
_sounds_ plausible, but it just feels wrong to me. But again, that's
personal. There's nothing off about the story itself - I'd watch the fourth
wall, it buckles in a few places (Lina calling Ranma's violence "comic
relief") but mostly holds steady. And the interactions are at least
superficially believable. All in all, it'd probably be a good read if I were
a neutral observer, but I'm not.
Those of you out there who fancy yourselves such should give this a try,
though.

Megumi has a 'talk' with Sanosuke.
Eh. It could stand to be longer - I felt like we really didn't get enough
time with Kenshin and Kaoru on the road, since a lot more stuff has to
happen _there_ than has to happen on the homefront. And you could probably
lose the striped-eye thing. Kenshin and the Battousai probably have
different stances, no? And those are, if not easier to read, at least less
improbable co-existing. For that matter, the event that spurs their
conversation - Kenshin dashing into the woods - seems completely arbitrary.
Sure, sure, the side-plots on the homefront are _nice_, but don't spend more
time with them than you spend on the main story.

Title Summary:
Planet Earth is abandoned, and a civil war brews throughout the Alliance
as two different concepts for the use of Voltron provoke military
confrontations.
Episode Summary:
In the three chapters posted so far, Earth is about to be evacuated.
The Voltron Force on Arus makes several decisions to prevent political
usurpation of the Princess. Meanwhile, the Vehicle team has been
ordered to confront the Voltron on Arus, and secure a new base for the
alliance... regardless of Arus' will in the matter.
Vehicle Voltron is new to me, as well. I'm beginning to feel out of the
loop, but literary merit is as it ever has been despite what I know of the
source material.
And this is interesting. You do setup very well, as I've said. So many
mysteries. Little things to pass the time and introduce pieces of other
mysteries.
There's a bit of a "the band's back together" feeling in all of this -
whether it's my own memory of Voltron or a genuine sentiment isn't something
I can pin down very well yet. But it certainly is an intriguing start -
though the proof's going to be in the landing.
I'd recommend P.G. Wodehouse as a reference for resolving the maximum amount
of plot points in the minimum amount of time, but I don't think that's the
tone you'll hit at the end.

Hmm.
This'd probably work better as a dojin, all things told. The style you have
going here tends to offshoots and wandering - neither of which are
necessarily _bad_. The problem is, of course, in the wonderful world of
ASCII streams, there's no real way to utilize the sort of jumping-around,
thought-following, two-dimensional arrangement of ideas you can do on the
page. Text files are a matter of "begin at the beginning, go on until you
come to the end, and then stop".
If you've got the skills for it, the sort of throttled perspective and rapid
alteration between dialogue and images you have going here would make for a
good manga. It unfortunately makes for a very uneven story.

Summary:
An MSTing of Blade and Epsilon's "Ran Wars: The Fandom Menace" by
Nidoking's own OAV 42 crew.
You know, part of what I believe is accepted MSTing structure is "don't slam
the authors". Another part is "don't go risque unless the fic invites it". A
third part is not, but should be, "don't put five blank lines between the
story and the riffing every single time". Especially with the sort of rapid
cuts you have _here_, devoting more visual space to scene dividers than you
do to actual _content_ is a very bad things. Part of what makes the
originals work so well is that they worked rapid-fire in tandem with the
movie. It's recaptured in text by affixing a carat to mark the original
story and leaving it and the riffing unspaced, separating them from each
other by a single blank line. Less gear-shifting. And less scrolling. I
think with all the intercuts a _sentence_ took up more room than my preview
pane (which is how I read everything) could show, and that's not good. Cut
down on the spacing and it'll be readable. Cut down on the H and it'll be
tolerable.

It's the American version, guys... sorry. The "Whose Line" regulars pay
tribute to Giant Mecha... but it winds up focussing on Eva's Shinji
Ikari. Oh, well...
Heh. Some good lampoons in here, all-told. Begs the question of whether
you're going to write up a whole show. But the lead-in and the commercial
bumper were as funny as the skit itself, which is probably a good thing.

You've obviously seen entirely too much Whose Line. Not that I mind. I could
hear the voices, and the improv-ish lines were funny enough.

Geez. You wait a few days and the world turns upside down. But life goes on.
It's been said that God allows suffering to exist because it provides people
with an easy way to do good, and an evil - pain - that is easy to alleviate
and, once gone, does not return. This, in turn, may spur people on to do
good that is not so easy, and to fight evils that are more tenacious.
The memory will take some time to fade, if indeed it ever does. Try not to
let what good has been found in this die out, either.
