I believe someone once said, a man doesn't have to be eloquent to speak in
times of tragedy, He just needs to speak. I am also in a state of shock.
The events which history will record seem to be surreal, and just a
nightmare to me. But as a paramedic, I realize they are all too real. I saw
the horror of the moment, and I saw myself in the aftermath. For me the
sight of a burning ambulance and the thought of my fellow paramedics dying
in the line of duty shakes me to the core and beyond.

But I still stand here alive, which is more than I can say for the victims
of the evil which has befallen this country. I stand for what I am. a
paramedic. I only hope I can honor my fellow medics, and continue their
struggle. I dont mean to belittle the loss of lives beyond the emergency
personnel, I just mean to illustrate that the death of someone who does what
I do everyday only makes the experience even more terrifying for me.

I am also affraid and angry. However, I am also hopeful. I hope someone
somewhere will live to tell a tale of their survival, and I hope the evil
behind this pays ten times over for its crime.

I can only sum up this tragedy in the paraphrase words of a great man.
