Conan turned around and faced even more blackness.  Then, it all made sense.
"AHA."

An illusion of Kogoro appeared in front of him.  Now it made perfect sense.

*You fear for the safety of those around you.  It is the burning desire to
protect that harbors your will to live*

Conan readied his tranqulizer dart, aimed, and shot the illusion of Mouri
Kogoro.

*WTF? He wasn't supposed to be able to hit an illusion!*

The illusion of Kogoro fell onto the imaginary ground asleep.  His voice
came from the distant Conan, who was apparently hiding in more of the
excessive darkness.  "Ahh, yes," said the voice.  "You may have tried to
escape my clutches, but your feeble attempt has failed.  LCL, I announce you
the murderer of Colonel Mustard, in the study, with a candlestick!"

*Whut? How can he be talking?  His lips aren't even moving!*

"It's really too simple.  The trail of liquid that I traced back to this
place from the scene of the crime.  Besides, the victim was wearing a white
shirt, don't you think that your orange redish stain was waaay too obvious."

*Umm......I didn't go anywhere today.  Come to think of it, I haven't been
out of this liquid since I was created.*

"That's not true.  You try to lie now but it is too late!  There is already
too much evidence against you!  Surrender yourself to the police!"

*Okay, this is beginning to creep us out!  Here we have a man who seems to
be the higher god of ventriloquism that's accusing us of murder in the first
degree!*

"You've done well to point the evidence at my daughter, but my daughter is
not able to spill orange blood like you!  And now, you try to entrap me in
this blackness, to kill me."

*Waaait a second.  Look, you're an illusion!  You can't talk!  You shouldn't
even have been shot by that Conan kid anyway!  Hey where is that Conan kid?*

Conan, all this time, was simply hiding behind Kogoro, talking into his
bowtie.  "Surrender now!  Your plans cannot work!" said Conan with the voice
of Kogoro.

*What?  That's Conan all the time?*

*............*

*This is soooooooooo weird!*
