I was debating whether or not this one counted as a fanfic or just as an odd
c&c... I figured, in the end, it was close enough to a spamfic to include.

##Uh oh%%
##My fault. Thought I'd caught them all. Thanks.

He strives to win the praise of his hero, Conan the Librarian...
He is sworn to uphold the rules under whatever style guides he may
encounted...
He quests for the meta-rules, felt by many but never perfectly stated,
seeking to understand the forces that drive him...
He fights through his friends, the mysterious wavy green and red
lines...
Ash, the Grammarian. Coming hopefully never to a fanfic list near you.
Gotta catch 'em all.
Really, man, if you can come up with this stuff, how
do you sleep at night? ;)
##On my back.

It's actually very strange. For some reason I seem to
write MUCH darker things than I would ever READ. Oh
well. People seem to like it. (I just which I could
write comedy)

Ceiling tiles. Yes, maybe that's what he could write about. So still
and innocent, like Rei - but unlike Rei, watching over everything,
waiting for the perfect chance to leap from above and crush everyone
in any building whatsoever. Even the Geofront would not be safe; they
had surely recruited the whole roof - and, by extension, every pebble
of land that Tokyo-3 sat on - to cave in when they struck. It would be
just like them, to betray their friends the floor tiles by crashing
into them like that.

Asuka choked back a laugh.
"I'm serious," Ritsuko continued with the air of one who is trying not
to show incredible frustration at being laughed at. "I thought that
writing some stories would be good therapy for him."
"What, did I break what little spine he had?"
"Actually, yes - both the way you meant it, and literally. He's not
getting out of that bed for at least a week, but his physical injuries
will definitely heal. It's his sync ratio I'm worried about. You
said he was worthless as an EVA pilot, and that looks like it may
become a self-fulfilling prophecy if he does not believe in himself."
"You're kidding, right? Stupid Shinji-"
"...was the best pilot we had. That's why we had Misato be his
guardian: to try to keep his spirits up. And that's why we recruited
you: to give him an example of someone who does at least a passable job
through sheer force of will even without any natural skill."
"..."
"It will be interesting to see what Shinji writes. Some say that the
best authors write variants on their own lives; some say they write
precisely what they have not lived, understanding it better from the
outside than anyone on the inside ever could."
A murder mystery. That, Asuka thought, would be worth writing. She'd
show up Shinji in every category that mattered. And for her first
work...Who Didn't Kill Ritsuko?
