Ifurita would be able to make short work of the reavers, and if so I
don't see why Makoto would want to abandon the rest of the world.
The perrenial problem with most crossover fiction - power levels just
don't add up ;). Brian seems to have handled the power differential
between Tenchi and Ranma 1/2 rather well by powering up the Ranma 1/2
special maneuvers. Especially the Soul of the Ice, that oh so abused
staple of the Superpowered Ranma genre. And then, of course, Ranma
became a Ryokoid, completely eliminating the power differential.
That's the problem with cameos - if you take the time to explain away
the inconsistensies, they aren't cameos anymore. Ifurita would seem to
be the perfect Reaver hunter. It would probably have been better simply
to leave her unmentioned, as her cameo didn't really add much the others
didn't. The other cameos (Inu Yasha and MKR, right?) weren't overpowered
and so didn't contradict the "unstoppable menace" premise of the plot.
Very good point. I'll just drop the El'Hazard cameo.
