<< Just 'cause he says it don't make it so. >>
Who is this he are you talking about?
He's talking about Jadeite, obviously. That's who said Yosho was arrogant.
Not every character in a fanfic has to be totally objective. I should add
that giving up a throne and abandoning your responsibilities does not
necessarily mean you're not arrogant.
<<But with Ryoko out of commission at that moment, Ryo-ohki could well
have spawned a more normal control panel for the others to control her
with.>>
In the original OAV, Ryoko was out of commission and Ryo-ohki did not
spawned
a more normal control panel for the others to control her with, ie Tenchi,
Aayke, and Mishoshi, so what's so speical about the case now that Ryo-ohki
would all of a sudden spawn a more normal control which wasn't even built
into her.
Let's think about those three people. Tenchi, i.e. the panicking earthling
with no flight experience. Mihoshi, the burned-out G.P. detective who
redefines the word clutz. And Ayeka, Ryoko's foremost rival and a useless
noblewoman who seems to rely on her Guardians to pilot her own ship.
Granted, Jadeite isn't necessarily confidence-inspiring, but it's at least
remotely possible Ryo-ohki thought he was competent enough to pilot. It is
also possible that Washuu's decision to use Ranma's genes for Ryoko rather
than Masu genes may have somehow given Ryoko cause to want manual controls.
(And it might have changed her hair color too. Duh.)
<<You mean like the way the SI parts of Ranma know some of what's going
to happen (like the fact that Ryoga would eventually show)? ^_->>
No, was in Jedi's gift, in touch with the nature, in touch with the force.
Not just voices in your head, like special case like Ranma. It has been
explained by the man who created the Jedi, George Lucas, that Jedi and
Seths,
can see into immidiate future, that's why they seem to have such a good
reflexes.
True. However, I believe it might be more accurate to say they FEEL the
immediate future on a nonconcious level. Reading the Star Wars books from
Luke's point of view, (including the recent ones where Luke is a Master), it
becomes apparent that a Jedi is not necessarily going "Well, he's going to
swing his lightsaber in an overhand strike, so I'll..." It's at least
remotely possible Ranma and friends could be doing this on a subconcious
level...
<<How one first learns of one's power does not, in and of itself, affect
one's ultimate potential.>>
That is not true. Let me tell you why. If Ranma would have come to save
Tenchi instead of letting him get killed, and told him that you can do it.
Tenchi would have gotten killed again second time because he did not have
the
access to the wings of the light hawk. Wings of the Light Hawk was able
to
be created by Tenchi because Tsunami brought Tenchi back using the Wings
of
the Light Hawk and herself. It's all explained you know. Also, only
reason
why Tenchi was able to do it was, he believed in himself, not because he
let
go or not because he got in touch with the FORCE from Star Wars, but
because
he believed in himself and because of the gift from Tsunami.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by your first few statements. It seems
likely Ranma was simply making a joke and trying to boost Tenchi's
confidence, not inform him to use secret Force techniques Ranma had been
imparting to him in segments of time that weren't detailed in the fanfic.
Tsunami DID bring Tenchi back to life, and it was detailed in the fic.
(Reread carefully if you missed it, but Ranma waves at Tsunami when she's
recovering Tenchi's body.) As was detailed in the manga and to a lesser
extent in the anime, Tenchi's potential to use the Jurai power is inborn.
He's always had it. He will always have it. Period. That is in fact why
Tenchi named after the sword-key. Ranma's encouraging him in his initial use
of the Jurai power means nothing in terms of Tenchi's absolute potential.
Tenchi's confidence is a separate issue, but accepting encouragement from
someone else on one occasion does not mean you'll always need encouragement.
<<...when does he merge with Ifurita? ^_^>>
Ranma merges with Ifurita? I guess I did miss alot, I mean ALOT. Ifurita
isn't Saijin though....also, I read some eariler chapters and I seem to
see
where he got that SSJ transformation thing. Just because Carrot and Ranma
combines their ki he get's SSJ. Quite frankly that's very arrogant. No
matter how powerful they each be individually, no two human can combine
and
result in SSJ power level.
Well, obviously... Carrot is not a human, he's an author. An SI author. The
fact that there's SOME justification for the transformation is an indication
of his forbearance. If Carrot wants give his characters power he will,
either by changeing them into saiyajins, giving them Jurai power, mergeing
them with Demon Goddesses... However, it seems at least possible their
initial transformation did NOT initially in actual saiyajin genes, and the
similarity to a saiyajin transformation was because of the unnatural
physiological results of two minds manifesting ki in one body (Kinda like
overclocking your computer processor)... but Mara's mistaken attempt to
'restore' Ranma's tail may have accidentally imbued him with saiyajin genes.
The Ranma-collective noted that this was possibly the reason Chibi-Usagi is
considerably more powerful than Ryoko. Ryoko already did have a tail in
Tenchi-canon, so she may have a bastardized version of the SSJ
transformation rather than the type imparted by any saiyajin genes. On the
other hand, given time and resources Washuu is frankly capable of just about
anything, so who knows what she did with this version of Ryoko? The next
full moon may clear up some mysteries.
<<Dude...what do you think Project Sub-Zero *was*? When infused with
guidance (and thus, presumably, power) from The Divine, toss all prior
> power calculations out the window. ^_->>
We are also talking about SSJ here, SSJ is more powerful then gods. Did
you
forget that Goku can beat the god of earth without even going to SSJ? Did
you forget that Goku can kill and beat the dragon god with out turning
into
SSJ? Did you forget that he can beat the ruler of the universe going SSJ?
The Kami-sama of 'Dragonball Z' is not necessarily the Kami-sama of 'Ah My
Goddess'. This is a crossover, and it's obvious some of the kami of this
universe are FAR more powerful than the Dragonball kami. Otherwise, how
would they have destroyed the saiyajin race in the first place? (It should
be noted that the kami of Dragonball Z did NOT have the Norse influence so
many of Carrot's and AMG's kami seem to possess. Perhaps events in the past
led the collective kami of Carrot's (and the AMG) Earth down a differerent
path. The creation of the Yggdrasil computer system seems a VERY likely
possibility. In fact, Loki's whining about his inability to run 'even a
low-level program' to disrupt Project Sub-Zero is very revealing. Clearly
the individual gods dervive much of their power from the Yggdrasil. Perhaps
it now holds much of their former power, collected into one entity.)
That said, this is after all fanfiction, and a rather broad crossover at
that. Quibbling over minor departures from canon seems rather odd when
Carrot is mergeing together so many series. Obviously a few are going to
have to be reinterpreted a bit. I'm actually rather pleased with how much
trouble the Ranma-collective is having despite their high power-level.
Hopefully Carrot can keep the story from becoming unbalanced.
