So far, NONE of the baby FFMLs have had much traffic, and so I figured I'd
try and spark something on the refuge by starting a haikai. It's something
which should only require, at most, ten or fifteen minutes by each project
member (and likely much less than that) when it gets around to being your
turn, so it should go rather quickly for what amounts to a round robin.
The problem with it is that it's poetry, and I'm not sure how many people
like the idea of working in poetry, regardless of their talents. It would
be something that we could get a lot of people working on together, if we
wanted, though... (at this point, to keep from getting so many people
involved that it becomes unmanagable, I'll only allow the FFML_Refuge
members into this project at this time, so those of you who are just on the
PMFFML, well, sorry... at least you can read it)

I've been thinking of doing this since I found out what a Haikai was in my
East
Asian History class. Apparently, this is an outdated form of poetry, but I
felt
it would be a nice group project idea.

If you don't know what a Haikai is, it's sort of a precursor to the Haiku
form of poetry. The first verse is a Haiku (known in a Haikai as a
'Hokku'), written by one author, then the next verse (which has a different
syllabic scheme; 7-7 instead of 5-7-5 (or 5-4-3-5 or 5-3-4-5) would be
written by
another author, then the third verse would go to another author, and then
the fourth verse would (usually) go back to the first author. The Haikai
is described as a 'comic linked verse,' and I had some ideas for an opening
Hokku for it.

Since it requires multiple people, I figured I'd ask this list to work with
me on it
(I've got the Hokku written, but I don't want to post it until I know who
else is
interested on working on it, so I could order everyone up and distribute
the
details. I'm willing to have more people working on this than the
traditional
number, but if I got exactly 3 that would be nice).

SO... if you're interested, let me know. If I get at least two other
people, I'll do it... (if not... well... I guess I won't). As a note, the
first
verse I was planning on strongly hints of Ranma, but you can add whatever
other elements you want into it... it's a round robin. It's bound to be
strange.
