But I'm a veteran of the list, too- I've been here
several years, seen a
number of problems come up and go away, read through
numerous character
debates that really should have been banned much
earlier than they were,
seen flame wars, read fanfics I really hated, given
and recieved tons of
c&c (my own mostly private, but I always loved
getting public stuff, too),
and loved every moment I spent here. I don't want
to give it up... so I
won't.
Seems that there are a few FFML refuges being set
up... since I suspect we
will ALL (temporarily) be picking and choosing which
lists we'll settle in
for the duration for, I might as well set up one of
my own. This one is a
listbot mailing list (i.e., free, so there'll be a
few ads, but not
invasive like YahooGroups might be). I'll be
posting my own fanfics there,
and allowing any and all who want to post their
fics, as well. I'll do a
minimum of moderation, so hopefully the people who
join will behave
themselves. All I ask is that you not do anything
TOO outrageous... if
things get out of hand before the FFML is restored,
I may have to make some
real rules and exert the minimal powers that I've
got, but I doubt it'll be
necessary.
As an added bonus, I'll also archive all FANFICS on
my home computer, and
repost them on the One True FFML once it has been
restored. This only goes
for fanfics, so any ideas, discussions, and c&c you
post publically won't
carry over, but if you decide to not rejoin the
reformed FFML, at least
your fics will. Of course, if you choose not to
have your fanfics
archived, so be it. Just include a note at the TOP
of the fic, and I won't
do it.
Here's hoping the delay will be short...
(Note: If a few certain individuals to not join up
on their own, I'll
invite you myself- namely, people who's fics I
especially enjoy above
others and people who I feel I've established
something of a friendship
with. So, if you recieve an unexpected message to
sign up to this list,
that's on purpose...)
