I got this just a little bit ago, and seeing a discussion related to
it on the FFML, I'm forwarding this in hopes of helping anyone who's
having the same problems connecting to the FFIRC. (Or the FFML chat,
if you prefer.)

As a result of this, the IRC server is now located at
irc.nabiki.com. Furthermore, the bot host is now known as
nodoka.nabiki.com.
What this means to you:
* When you want to connect to the FFIRC, update your IRC clients to
refer
to irc.nabiki.com instead of irc.newberry.edu. That's about it.
* Those users running eggdrop 'bots on Nodoka will need to likewise
update
config files for those 'bots to reflect the new server name for the
IRC server.
