I was very disappointed in the people that responded negatively to Gary
Kleppe's "Ranma chooses smooth over chunky peanut butter" fic. It was a
nice, lighthearted piece that was suppose to reflect on the absurdity of
people complaining about OOCness in a previous fic. Or at least that's what
I got out of it. And what happened? People complained because it "wasn't
up to Gary's usually high standards."
What a load of bull! Stop being so critical and enjoy what people write!
Um, I'm assuming this is referring to my response to Gary's fic,
since I did say something similar to that, and I feel I should point
out that my response was, in fact, a parody of the usual response
accusing someone's fic of OOCness. Since I've written those kind of
responses seriously before, I thought I could do a decent imitation
of one that would sound serious, except for the totally ludicrous
subject matter. If people actually didn't get that, and took my
response seriously, I need to work on my humor writing.
Unless, of course, your response is actually a subtle parody
of the usual counter-response to charges of OOCness, in which case
I need to go lie down a while.
