Hmm... I think I have to disagree with you.
She does seem very interested in making money off him, but seems just as
interested in teasing him. In the 'engagement' story, she looks him in the
eyes when she says she loves him. There is also the incident during the
'concert story' ticket, where she is teasing him with her body by making
him think that she is undressed. (Something she *doesn't* do while Akane's
around.)
Even if it's *not* love, I think it's attraction. We'd have to ask
Takahashi for sure...
Perhaps there is attraction, but when I said she had no interest in him, the
unspoken word there was "romantic". She's VERY good at teasing the boy, but
frankly I think in the concert ticket story line if Ranma had responded by
going after her when she pretended to be undressed she'd have run for her
life.
An interesting note, in all the different openings for the anime, the
major
focus is always given to Ranma and his fiancees. In the seventh season
opening, Nabiki is given as big a part as Akane. At one point, just after
Ranma escapes, the two are staring each other in the face.
That's the anime...which Takahashi had very little control over.
