I do find myself disagreeing somewhat with the (apparent) conclusion.

The "respectable but boring" life supposedly ahead of her isn't the only

thing this world offers, and to escape in the way she did... well, I can

hardly consider it a good thing. :) Of course, I may be interpreting it

in a way different from what you intended.

I thought it was really well done, but I found myself sharing some of the

same sentiments.

To me, there's a really interesting story in having this Akane turn away

from the fantasy, meet the real, boring Ranma, discover he's everything she

feared... and then, have both of them build an interesting life together.

I think the two of them could decide not to be boring. Maybe the "real"

Ranma, with a little encouragement, could turn out to be just as special a

guy as his fantasy version, but in a real-life way. Not a fantastic martial

artist with a Jusenkyou curse, but maybe he turns his back on that corporate

career to do something more meaningful (speaking as someone in a corporate

career, I feel I have the right to say that ^_^). Maybe the story ends with

Akane finding her real, flesh-and-blood as opposed to superhuman Ranma is

more interesting than a fantasy.

But that's just me. :-)

Anyway, I did like the way the story was done; it was a good read.
