This may not be the most appropriate place for this, but I imagine

it will hold some interest for people here.

A while back a friend of mine wrote a program that allowed him to

read text files on a computer and book mark where he was in the file if he

couldn't finish it. He recently offered me a copy of that program for my

own use. But since it was a Unix program I would have some trouble using

the program at home since it wasn't really Windows compatabile. I also

mentioned that I could think of a few other people who might be

interested in the program if it was available for multiple systems.

So he decided to rewrite the program so it was usable under

multiple OS's and while he was at it he decided to add a few other

features (like reformatting the files width as you read it).

I know that someone was working on a program to reformat files

into straight text for posting on the mailing list a while back, but I

don't remember what came of it, or if it would allow people to read the

file.

So I thought I would send this message out to see if their is any

interest in this program and if there is to get an idea as to what OS's it

might need to be compatible with. And since I was at it anyway my friend

also decided to ask if anyone out there might have some suggestions to

make the program better.

In interests of keeping traffic on the mailing list devoted to its

primary purpose I ask that all replies be private. Either to me at

shadowveldt@snip.net or to my fried at gizmo4@home.com. (One warning my

friend is not on the mailing list and his e-mail account is a personal

one. He also has a reputation for dealing with spam sent to him by

returning very large pieces of code.)
