Heh... is it a coincidence that my last daily chapter is the one

that's

turning into a serial discussion? I've been waiting for this for a

long

time! ^_^

It's always nice... Feel free not to reply to this one, if you feel

you're

getting overworked, or kept away from writing your 'fics.

Nah... I need something to do now that I'm not devoting time to sending

fics each day... and there are just a couple of points I wanted to

clarify, judging from your confusion.

..Dragon slave cast in the SM universe?

Typo, I presume. A mental one. But still funny.

No. Didn't you read chapter 1? She didn't get to finish casting it, but

there was definitely stock footage.

I'm betting their bodies couldn't handle it, or some equivalent

^.^

(hands 1000yen to Nabiki)

You've lost your money.

Damn!

Well, at least it was just yen. Imagine betting 1000 dollars on that...

AFAIK Lina was 15 or 16 when she met gourry, and eighteen during

Try. Actually, I think she's slighly taller in Try...

Who said anything about Try? Though it might be a bit of a spoiler,

this

Lina comes from the end of Next. Lina had left Naga's company (or

vice

versa) long before she met Gourry, if I haven't got my timelines

mixed

up. Didn't Lina learn the Dragon Slave while traveling with Naga?

I think she knew it *before* she met Naga. Giga Slave, too, afaik...

Not really important, though.

No. My point was that Lina had met all of the characters she mentions

well before Try. If I'd mentioned Philia, I could understand your

confusion.

I actually (sorry) haven't read any of Allyn's work, or at least

don't

recognize the name. My free time is pretty limited, so I just stick

with

the stories that catch my interest. I could probably quantify which

stories those are, but I won't bore you with details. I've only been

reading from the FFML for a few months, so if the story was started

before this summer and never reposted from the beginning, I

generally

don't get into it.

I'm not really sure how much of 'is work was posted here. I've read

most of it at his website.

Hmm... where's that? (If you're just replying to this, do it

privately... I don't want my first real fic discussion to turn into

spam!)

Lina, surprisingly, has probably the easiest time killing people.

After all,

she comes from somewhat paper-cut 'Sword and Sorcery' world.

But generally she's fighting bandits or evil mages or creatures. Not

innocent people. She's been known to defend innocent people.

True, but they're not exactly fighting 'innocent' people. I mean their

opponents are fighters, they knew the risks, right?

But even Lina can tell who the good guys and bad guys are in this

universe. She's not used to having to kill good guys.

With her, there is quite a lot of liberty with how she'll deal with

moral

conflicts. If Gourry's in a crystal(again) ^^; it has been shown she's

willing to risk the destruction of universe, so what are few

innocents...

Only when her foe is about to destroy or conquer the universe anyway. I

could see her taking that risk to, say, cast the Giga Slave against

Beryl. Her real problem is weighing the lives of the Sailor Scouts,

total strangers defending a universe that she'll be leaving as soon as

she kills them, against what's in her crystal.

The Space Pirate Ryoko wouldn't have much problems either, though

current Ryoko(after Tenchi) might.

Right... she certainly has enough history of violence in her past

that

killing will come rather naturally to her, particularly with the

added

incentive of protecting what Beryl has in her crystal. But even

Ryoko

has a compassionate side.

True. Besides, she'd surely be prone to consider how Tenchi would feel

if she went out killing innocent people.

Possibly... but she often takes actions not only without thinking of

what Tenchi will feel, but they usually end up being exactly what Tenchi

least wanted her to do. Still, I think chapter 1 shows that Ryoko can

have mixed emotions toward the prospect of innocents. She's willing to

fight the Sailor Scouts, but can't bring herself to kill a truly

innocent girl. Now that they've been ordered to do exactly that, if they

choose the wrong girl...

Hmm... I think Ranma's the only one without previous experience on

having someone close being trapped in a crystal... Strange.

Hmmm... I hadn't really considered that. Interesting point, though.

Also, unless it's Washuu that's being used as a bait against Ryoko,

the Number one genius scientist in the universe is bound to interfere

eventually. Except if this is pre-Kagato. Or some other than

OAV-Ryoko.

Don't tell, OK ^.^

Speculation is half of the fun.

OK, I won't tell. But judging by what Beryl says in the Prologue, you

may be able to guess the answer to this question.

By the way, I noticed the mysterious fifth general has not made an

appereance in quite a while... What are you plotting?

(again, don't tell)

The reason for that will be at least subtly hinted at, if not made

completely clear, in chapter 3.

Lina looks the same, but without her jewelry (the amulets, earrings,

and

so on). It may seem ineffective, but the Sailor Scouts' tiaras and

miscellaneous jewelry disguises them adequately... (In chapter 3,

Lina

is rather irritated that Stephanie doesn't recognize her as Amelia,

and

brings this point up to herself.) Ryoko doesn't have a disguised

form,

which is why she has to wait in the Negaverse while Ranko and Amelia

go

to school.

Ah. But *surely* she's capable of changing her appereance... even

by herself, if neccessary. Or maybe it's not something she can do

without the senshi picking it up, and QB knew this... Or maybe

it's because her physiology is so alien, that even if she changed

her appereance, she could be simply detected for being such an

alien life-form, or...

^_^ Um, sure. Sounds good to me. I can't remember her ever coming up

with a decent disguise, though... she once split herself into two copies

just for fun, but I don't think she could fight that way. Lina and

Ranma's changes, as well as those of the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask,

are magically enhanced. Ryoko's wouldn't be.

Bah!

I guess I'll wait and see.

That also works.

(Maybe I'll send a teaser of the fight scene I'm working on, if

anyone really wants to see it.)

Nah, save it for when you really need it.

Right. It may give me incentive to write the rest a bit faster (without

losing quality, hopefully) to get to this scene. Still...

Oh well, maybe I'll be able to finish the fourth part of the Ran Wars

MST sometime soon.

BURNS: What is this? Some kind of force field around these vegetables!

HOMER: That's the sneeze guard. You have to lean under it to get food or

sneeze on stuff.

JOHNNY BRAVO: *sigh* The only woman I ever really loved... and she's

gone. I wonder if I'll ever get over - Hey! Nuggets!

JACKIE CHAN: Oh, sorry. I broke your spy camera! (pause) SPY CAMERA?!
