But how did they end up in Qinghai? It's pretty hard to get
there by boat.
Perhaps they had one of Rouga's ancestors navigating?
I asked mr Yonge about the Hibiki-factor (but that was

He claimed that none of Ryoga's ancestors were involved

I suppose this might sound like a silly, OT, question, but in this
story, are you going to have a Rouga who is able to go from continent to
continent without crossing water? It might or might not matter, but if
your Rouga can walk from Japan to America, it allows other tie-ins with
DC comics' characters much more easily.
Ryouga can walk to Okinawa. There's more water between the main islands
and Okinawa, than between the main islands and Korea. He DID walk to
China. I don't remember any claims that this was a crossover with DC.
Considering the number of DC characters who can fly or have easy access
to planes vs. the similarly equipped Ranma characters it is easier to bring
DC characters to Japan than Ranma characters to America.

There are three methods for writing code in which no bug can be found:
1) Make the code so straightforward that there are obviously no bugs.
2) Make the code so complicated that there are no obvious bugs.
3) Insist that any apparent bugs were really intentional features.
