You talk about writing abilty as if it were a fixed genetic

characteristic, like eye color or blood type. It isn't. Writing is a

skill. No one starts out automatically good at it. All of us who write

fanfics on the list have had to put in a lot of time, effort, practice,

and thought to get to the level of quality we're at today, and I think

most of us would agree that we're still learning.



If you've got an idea that you think worthy of being written, do what

the rest of us did back when we were in the same situation: Learn to

write so you can do it yourself. Or just face the fact that your idea is

probably going to go unwritten. Your choice.
