"Any new breakthroughs on who the last two knights could be?" Rei asked.
Ami looked up from her computer. "Nothing at all," she replied. "I'm
starting to wonder if they might have been reborn in another part of the
world."
"I don't think so," Ceres returned. "All of the senshi and crystal
carriers were reborn in or near Tokyo, I find it unlikely that just
those two would be reborn someplace else."
"Is it possible that one or more of the crystal carriers could be
knights?" Makoto inquired as she thought of Crane Joe.
Luna shuddered as she remembered they way Rhett Butler had protected
her.
Rei envisioned her grandfather dressed as one of the knights trying to
simultaneously battle oni and flirt with girls. "I hope not."
"I'll need to do some figuring on that," Ami said looking back to her
computer. "I hadn't considered the possibility."
"In the mean time we should go ahead and try to get Kunzite back,"
Artemis added.
"Right!" Luna agreed. "Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoicite. Do you have any
ideas where we could find something we could use to resurrect Kunzite?"
Zoicite became distressed as he remebered everything about Kunzite. "I
think I might know where we could find something," he finally muttered
in a soft voice. "I'm not certain there will be anything there, but it
might be worth a try."
"What is it?" Ami asked in a concerned voice as she closed her computer.
"Well, when I was first taken into the Dark Kingdom I had nothing,"
Zoicite explained. "I couldn't remember the Sailor Senshi, the Silver
Millennium, my fellow guardians, or even myself. I then met Kunzite who
took me under his wing and taught me how to use the powers of the Dark
Kingdom. Then came the battle against Queen Serenity and I was defeated
along with the rest of the Dark Kingdom.
"When the Dark Kingdom was reborn I saught out Kunzite and begged him to
continue teaching me," continued Zoicite. "We trained more and more as
Beryl sent minor attacks on various parts of the world, many of which
were stopped by Sailor V. About the time she entrusted command of a
coordinated effort to Jadeite, Kunzite and I had started associating on
a personal level as well. I didn't know what I felt or why, it was all
so strange. Since such fraternization was frowned upon in the Dark
Kingdom, it would not do to have two of the Four Kings set such a bad
example so our personal commnications were limited to whenever we were
on assignments and notes written back and forth which we hid in a place
that only the two of us knew about." As Zoicite stopped speaking, he
noticed that tears had started to roll down his gentle features.
Ami wiped the tears away from Zoicite's face. "I think I understand,"
she said gently. "You don't have to go on."
All of the other couples in the room held tightly to their loved ones at
the emotional scene.
"We all understand," Haruka added. "When your alone and frightened, you
want someone to be with. Nothing matters other than the fact that the
person treats you well."
"Right," Michiru agreed. "It's inevitible that you would develope
feelings for the only source of kindness around you. Anybody would."
Everyone else nodded in agreement.
"Then as soon as you feel up to it, the senshi and the knights will
return to the Dark Kingdom to check your hiding place to see if there's
anything there," Ceres spoke up.
"I'm ready," Zoicite said as he rose to his feet in determination.
"Whenever you all are ready to go, I'll be ready."
Luna turned to Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru. "Could you three please
stay here again?" she asked. "Mamono is still out there somewhere and
we don't want to leave this world undefended."
"Of course," Haruka replied. "We've got it covered. Right,
Hotaru-chan?"
"Right, Haruka-papa!" the child concurred energetically.
A quiet knock came at the door and Minako cautiously answered it. As
she opened the door she found it to be Yuuichirou carrying a broom and
other cleaning supplies.
"Ojiisan asked me to clean up in here," Yuuichirou explained displaying
the cleaning tools. He looked around the room and caught sight of Jay
with his arms still lightly wrapped around Rei's shoulders. At the
sight, he seemed to wilt and turned back down the hall. "I can tell you
guys are busy in here, I'll clean it tonight after everyone leaves." He
immediatley took off running down the hall before anything could be
said.
Usagi faced Mamoru with a troubled look on her face. "Isn't there
anything we could do?" she whispered to him.
"I don't know what," he replied quietly. "They're made for each other
the same as we are."
"I know," she returned softly. "But Yuuichirou's such a sweet guy. I
don't like seeing him hurt like this."

After exitting the shreine, all but Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru
transformed.
"Be careful," Michiru cautioned as the other girls got into formation.
"The Dark Senshi are probably still on the lookout for you."
"Don't worry," replied Sailor Moon. "We'll be back in no time."
Sailor Apollo turned to the three cats. "Are you three coming this
time?"
"No," Ceres replied. "I don't think there's much need for us to go.
Only Zoicite knows this secret place is, and I don't know of any other
way we could help out."
"You could throw him at the Dark Senshias a distraction," Artemis
suggested helpfully.
The siamese cat glared at him until Luna came to stand between them and
broke their line of sight.
"I think I'll stay here and make sure these two stay out of trouble,"
the black cat stated as she looked back and forth between Artemis and
Ceres. "You better get going before it gets too late."
The senshi and knights nodded in unison and began to focus their energy.
"SAILOR TELEPORT!!!" Luna shouted then the senshi disappeared.

"They're back, majesty," stated a girl with long white hair. "And they
have yet another addition to their team."
"Should we transform and go fight them?" inquired a girl with shoulder
length blue hair.
"No," the dark princess replied from her throne. "I want you all to
transform and be ready, but first we're going to observe."
"Yes, majesty," replied the group before her in unison.
The princess rose from her throne and stepped down to the other girls.
After all had transformed, Sailor Luna faced Sailor Ares.
"Where are they?"
"They appeared near the Dead Forest and seemed to be heading into the
woods," replied the white-haired senshi.
"I think I night know where they're going," Sailor Zeus interjected.

"Blackstone Point," Zoicite informed the others as they proceeded
further into the forest. "It's a clearing near the center of the Dead
Forest where Kunzite and I did a lot of training. Nobody else ever goes
there because the dangers of the forest so we placed our messages in the
largest stone there."
Sailor Mercury looked over Zoicite. He seemed to be holding up alright
so far. Another thought crossed her mind as she inspected his orange
colored knight outfit. "What exactly should we call you?"
Zoicite thought for a moment as he inspected his uniform. It beared the
crest of a rising sun which seemed to burn the color of the sun at the
first light of dawn. At his side hung a sheathed katana which bore an
identical crest on its hilt. "I am the Dawnlight Knight," he replied
softly when the name finally filled his mind.
Everyone considered as they continued into the deep woods.
The Starlight Knight turned to the Sunlight Knight. "He still needs a
human name if he's planning to have any kind of life outside of being
one of the knights," he whispered.
"I know, but he said he's having trouble choosing a name," replied
Sunlight Knight quietly.
"Well, as long as he doesn't follow your example," retorted Starlight
Knight. "I don't want to have to call him 'Zoe Saitou'."
"This isn't the time, guys," Tuxedo Kamen interrupted. "You can argue
about names after Kunzite is recovered."
"Yes, sir," they both replied sheepishly.
"Here it is," Dawnlight Knight called from the front of the group.
The senshi and knights walked into a large clearing which was filled
with many boulders. The giant rocks were jet black and seemed to be
onix or a similar substance.
The Dawnlight knight walked to the largest boulder which was set in the
center of the clearing and lightly placed his hand on it. "In here is
where we left our notes for each other."
Sailor Mercury activated her visor and inspected the large rock. "There
does seem to be something inside, but the darl enrgy used to seal it is
keeping me from getting a full reading on what it is exactly."
"Sailor Mars?" Sunlight Knight prompted.
Mars nodded in response and stepped forward. "Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai,
jin, retsu, sai, zen. AKURYO TAISAN!!!" she called as she laid a ward
against the spot the Dawnlight Knight had indicated.
A white square of light appeared on the face of the rock then faded to
reveal a small openning containing a folded peice of parchment.
The Dawnlight Knight reached forward and picked up the parchment,
carefully unfolding it. As he finished reading the message, the page
fell from his hand and drifted lightly to the ground and tears began to
run from his eyes.
"Are you alright?" Sailor Moon asked worriedly.
"Is it from Kunzite?" inquired Venus.
Dawnlight Knight nodded as he tried to dry his tears.
Mercury knelt down and picked up the letter. "May I?"
Again he nodded, then turned away as she openned the parchment and began
to read.
"Ever since your loss, I have looked back on everything we have been
through and I've realized something. Before you died in my arms you
told me that you loved me; I now realize that I have come to share that
emotion though I never got to tell you. Though Queen Beryl is the one
who dealt you the fatal blow, it's all because of those damned girls.
Fear not though as I will revenge you; the Sailor Senshi shall know the
meaning of agony for taking you from me. I am going now to confront
them at D-point where I'll destroy them. Then, when I have removed the
Ginzuishou from the dead fingers of Serenity, I'll use its power on the
rose they used to mar your beautiful face, that will bring you back to
me. We will be together soon, my love. Kunzite."
As Sailor Mercury lowered the page, she saw that each member of the
group was touched by the heartfelt message.
"I never thought about the Dark Kingdom like that," Sailor Moon said
sadly. "If I'd had any idea I would have turned both of you then. I
never wanted to hurt any of you, I just wanted to stop the Dark Kingdom
from hurting all of the innocent people."
Mercury cautiously embraced the Dawnlight Knight. "He'll be back soon
and you can work out whatever you need to. You have all the time you
need now."
"Thank you," he replied as he turned to face the group. "Thank you all.
Now why don't we get out of here before the Dark Senshi show up?"
"He's right," Mercury agreed. "The Dark Team has met us every time
we've been here, I'm really quite suprised they haven't showed up yet."
They quickly got into formation and started to focus their energy.
"APHRODITE LASER BEAM FLASH!!!" The beam of purple energy passed
through the center of the group oeircing the shoulder of Starlight
Knight.
"NEPHRITE!" Sailor Apollo yelled as she ran to kneel at his side.
"Don't worry," he replied. "I'll be okay. Just be careful, those
attacks hurt."
"Where are they?!" Jupiter steamed.
Mercury activated her visor and began to search the area around the
clearing.
"ARES FLAME BURN!!!"
Sailor Moon barely evaded being singed as Tuxedo Kamen tackled her to
get her out of harms way.
The Dark senshi stepped out of the woods in front of the Sailor Team.
"It looks like you guys can move when you need to," muttered Sailor
Zeus. "Except for him that is." She indicated the Starlight Knight as
she spoke.
"Let's hurry up and finish this," urged Sailor Aphroidte. "I want to
see what kind of fun we can have in their world."
"WHAT?!" Mars shouted in surprise.
"Oh, you didn't know?" Sailor Luna prodded. "We've just about mastered
inter-dimensional travel."
"Yeah!" added Sailoe Helios. "And the first place we're going is to
your world to finish what Queen Metalia-sama started!"
The Dawnlight Kight stepped forward and drew his katana. "I was just
returned to that world, I will _not_ let you destroy it!" He lept
forward and slashed at Sailor Luna who stepped back to avoid the strike.
Sunlight Knight noticed Sailor Zeus preparing to attack Dawnlight Knight
and quickly embedded three shurien in the ground at her feet and held
another at the ready. "No, no!"
Sailor Apollo stepped up to Sailor Aphrodite. "You are the one that
shot that beam, right?"
Aphrodite took on a fighting stance. "Yeah, what of it?"
"POETIC MELODY!!!"
Sailor Aphrodite didn'teven have time to react as the two msical notes
left Sailor Apollo's hands and it her in the stomach.
"That's for hurting him!" she said as she walked over to the downed Dark
Senshi and kicked her in the side. "You won't be doing anything to our
world!"
The Dawnlight Knight managed to back Sailor Luna up against a large tree
where she had no means of escape, and was quite prepare to land a
killing blow if needed.
Sailor Luna inspected her opponent and decided that discretion ws the
better part of valor. "Dark Team!" she called to her associates.
"Retreat to Fortress. The amplifier will be done soon enough, we'll pay
them a visit and take care of them once and for all then!"
The Dark Senshi retreated into the woods and quickly vanished from
sight.
"Do they mean it?" asked Sailor Moon. "Are they really going to invade
our world?"
"I believe so," replied Tuxedo Kamen.
"They must have some sort of Sailor Teleport of their own to teleport
around the Dark Kingdom," explained Mercury. "But for inter-dimesional
teleportation, they need more energy. That must be the amplifier they
were talking about."
Dawnlight Knight rejoined the group as he sheathed his katana. "We
should go back and restore Kunzite," he told the others. "After a good
night's sleep we should all be able to beat them together."
"He's right," Apollo concurred as she helped Starlight Knight to his
feet. "Let's get out of here and revive Kunzite, then we can come
finish this before they have a chance to complete their amplifier and
attack our world."
All nodded in agreement and got in formation to teleport home.

That evening, after the girls had left the Hikawa Shrine, Zoicite
approached the newly resurrected Kunzite as he was loking quietly into
the night.
"You know we need to talk, but this isn't the time," he said.
Kunzite nodded. "After we finish the ordeal with the Dark Senshi you
told me about, then we can talk," he replied.

Yet another chapter complete, and I think things are looking good. Only
one more episode to the Dark Senshi/Return of the Knights story arc.
