This is an alternative ending to Richard Lawson's novelzation of the-koi-on-her-breast which can be found at http://fanfic.tass-anime.com/ .

Rumiko Takahashi invented the story. Richard Lawson turned it into a fanfic. I'm just making an alternative ending to the story. I hope you like this alternative ending. And don't forget to read the original.

INTERLUDE: Ranma

Ranma woke slowly. She was confined in a strange way. She blearily

looked around, trying to figure out where she was.

She realized that she was in Ryoga's backpack. That Ryoga was carrying

her off somewhere.

And then rational thought fled her. Her mind was filled with a feverish

desire. A desire for one person. A desire to make that one person

happy, to give that person whatever he wanted, so long as she got to be

with him. Everything else was secondary, absolutely everything else.

Some part of her was desperately trying to get her attention, trying to

fight the fever. Ranma ignored it. It didn't matter. Nothing mattered

to her. Except Ryoga Hibiki.

Her fevered mind began racing, staring at the back of Ryoga's head, at

the object of her obsession. <Now we're alone together where no one can

find us!> That made her very excited. Now there would be no

distractions. It would be just her and Ryoga.

And that was all that she needed.

***

I judged us to be deep enough in the woods. I sat and thought about what to do. I had to break the spell on Ranma.

Something glomped me. "Love." It was Ranma. "You."

I stared into her eyes. They seemed slightly glazed, and she was

staring at me with the devotion one might expect of a dog. "You're

awake?" So help me, it was the only thing I could think of to say.

She spoke in a slightly breathless voice. "Yes. We're all alone now."

The implications of that last statement frightened me. "Uh... um...."

She smiled at me, her expression slightly crazed. "Calm down." She

hugged me tightly. "We're in the middle of an unihabited forest. No

matter how you scream, cry, or shout, no one will be able to hear you."

Oh gods. "I'm supposed to say that!" I looked at her, ready at last. This was one fight she was not going to win. "Ranma, prepare to die!"

She slowly raised herself into a kneeling position, looking at me sadly.

"Do you really hate me?"

I snorted. "I'll be frank. I never really liked you in the first

place." But somehow I didn't believe what I said was true. Ranma had once been my friend.

Ranma peered up at me, giving me an inquiring look. "If I die, will you

be happy?"

This took me aback. "What?"

Still kneeling, Ranma turned so she was facing away from me. "I

understand. Go ahead and kill me then."

"What?" I knew I was repeating myself. I couldn't help it.

Ranma's voice was at once sad and happy. "I'll do anything for you.

Even die."

I stared at the back of her head. It would be so easy now. I could

snap her neck in an instant. She'd never feel a thing. My best chance

at happiness lay in destroying the person who had tortured my life from

the moment I met him. Her. Whoever. An opportunity like this would

never come again. It was so simple, just reach forward.

Ranma pressed her hands in front of her and began to mutter a prayer.

I fell to my hands and knees. <I can't do it! I can't attack an

opponent who doesn't retaliate.> And for some reason the thought of actually killing Ranma hurt like a knife in the heart. I don't know why but it did. I felt strange all of a sudden and very confused. I did not know what was happening to me.

"I knew it all along." Ranma turned around, to look at me with with

those same glazed, adoring eyes. "I love you..." She kissed me on the

cheek. "...so..." She kissed me again. "...much."

Ranma had kissed me. Ranma. Had. Kissed. Me.

And it wasn't actually that bad. In fact it was kind of good. <Wait just a minute here. What the heck am I thinking?!>

Ranma began singing. "Ah, the man in the moon strings us together...."

<She's got a lovely singing voice. Strange how I never noticed it before.> As I looked at Ranma I saw the way the moonlight shone in her hair. <She really is very pretty.> <ARRRGGGHHH!!! What the Heck am I thinking?!>

INTERLUDE: Akane

Akane ran through the streets of Nerima. She carried the koi fishing

rod. Even though half of the bamboo shaft was missing, she guessed it

was still functional.

<Where could they be?> She needed to find them before it was too late.

Before Ranma became Ryoga's... Ryoga's... love-slave, for lack of a

better term. Or rather, in lieu of a term she preferred not to think

about.

"Come back here, Ranma!" Ryoga, sounding strange.

"Over here, come and catch me!" Ranma, female, sound sickeningly cute.

Akane turned to find she was next to Furinkan High School. <The

schoolyard?> She had no idea what they were doing there.

She peered over the fence. Ranma was leaping around, looking very

happy, calling out "Nyaah, nyaah" in a teasing voice.

Ryoga was chasing her, and he looked and sounded strange. "Ranma!"

"Are they playing?" She wasn't sure. Ryoga didn't look like he was in

a playful mood. There was still a lot about Ryoga's motivations in this

that she didn't understand.

Still, it was time to put an end to the whole mess.

***

Ranma just wouldn't stand still and let me talk to her. She bounded from

place to place, laughing at me. <I never realized how cute she looks doing that.>

Finally, she ran up against a tree. "You can't keep bouncing now."

"I know that!" Ranma beamed at me, bringing her fists underneath her

chin, her eyes excited. "Do whatever you want!"

I looked at her closely. "Ranma , we've got to talk."

"NO!" Somebody whacked the back of my head with a shovel. "You can't

go on like this!"

I pushed myself up and turned around. "Akane! How did you find us in

the deep forest?"

She shot me a disgusted look. "This is the schoolyard."

I looked around in surprise. I had been so sure.

"It's this koi rod." Akane held it up. "This is what turned Ranma into

your lover."

"What?" My what? What did Akane think of me?

"Koi rod?" Ranma came up, a quiet expression on her face. Akane held

out the instructions to Ranma, and together they read them. "Oh. 'The

person you fish will receive the seeds of love.'"

Ranma's face was completely blank. She pulled down her tank top so that

the top part of her left breast was revealed. She pointed to the mark.

"A koi. I see."

<It's all a big misunderstanding, misunderstanding, misunderstanding....>

I wanted to vocalize the words. I wanted to very badly. I tried. What

did Ranma and Akane think of me? That I was after Ranma, that I wanted

Ranma as my lover? Which didn't sound that bad really. <What the Heck am I thinking?!>

Yet I felt a strange relief. Now that Ranma knew what had happened to

her, she would leave me alone. Even if she and Akane never spoke to me

again, even if they thought I was an even bigger pervert than Happosai,

at least I wouldn't have to worry about Ranma kissing me - among other

things - any more. Why did that thought feel me with loneliness?

I sensed something flying towards me. Instinctively, I jumped. I

twisted in the air and turned around, just as Ranma was pulling back the

line she had just cast out from the koi fishing rod.

Oh damn.

Horror washed over me. Absolute horror, the kind that made Jusenkyo

seem like a memory of paradise. "What are you trying to do?"

Ranma smiled brightly at me, holding the koi fishing rod in her hands.

"It's really simple. I'm just using this rod..." In a flash, she

jumped in the air. "...to fish you! Attack!"

I stood motionless, the horror freezing me. But part of me thought it wouldn't be so bad at all. I shook my head around. <What the Heck am I thinking?!> Why did I suddenly feel this way?

Akane, fortunately, chose that time to do what she does best: attack

Ranma. She hit Ranma over the head with the shovel, shouting "No!"

This was not a Ranma, however, that would meekly accept a beating.

"Stop interfering, bitch!" Ranma kicked Akane.

Ranma kicked Akane.

Not a foot sweep, not an attempt to send her flying out of the school

yard. It was a vicious, I'm-gonna-hurt-you attack. Akane, fortunately,

was able to block it with her forearms, screaming as she fell backwards.

I studied Ranma, the look of anger, even... hatred. <Does Ranma really

hate Akane?> From the look on Akane's face, she was having exactly the

same thought.

This galvanized me. I sprang at Ranma, knocking her down and scooping

up Akane. "We've got to get out of here, Akane!"

Akane looked dazed, confused, hurt. "Ryoga...." Her voice contained a

trace of accusation.

I tried to ignore the dagger her voice was sinking into my heart. I

heard Ranma shouting from far behind me. "Ryoga! Let me fight with

Akane!"

"You're crazy!" I didn't look behind me, didn't slow down. Ranma was

faster than I was. I had to find a hiding place before she could catch

me. I spotted some thick undergrowth near a tree. Akane and I crouched

inside it.

Ranma bound into sight, still holding onto the koi fishing rod. "Damn!

Where'd they run off to?" She began stalking around the school yard.

"Yoohoo!" This time, her voice was menacing instead of teasing.

This was the worst disaster I had ever been involved with. It was

actually somewhat liberating. It made some things easier to say. "I'm

so sorry, Akane. I never thought it would turn out like this."

"Ryoga." Akane's voice was sad, hurt, forlorn. "Why did you have to

choose Ranma?"

I looked at Akane. Her gaze pierced my heart, as usual. <No, Akane. I

was actually going for you. You're the one I really love. Or did I? What were these feelings for Ranma?>

I made a fist, then punched the tree, hard. <After what I've done, I've

lost the right to explain.>

I had to set things right, put things back in order. I stood up. "I'm

going to settle this with Ranma once and for all."

Akane looked at, confusion written all over her face. "Why?"

"If..." A big if. "If I survive this, I hope you..." Do I really love Ranma? "...can understand..." But Ranma was my enemy , wasn't she? "...my motives." Suddenly I understood. I really did love Ranma. Oh Gods , I'm in love with Ranma!

What am I going to do now.

I steeled myself. This thing, at least, I could try to make right.

I stepped out into the open. "Ranma, I'm here!" I glared around the

school yard. "Show yourself!" One way or the other, it would end.

Here and now.

Again, I heard the whisper behind me. Again, I jumped and twisted.

"Missed." Ranma stood, whirling the koi fishing rod in her hand, a very

determined look on her face. "You don't want to be hooked?"

Actually part of me did. But I had to free Ranma drom this spell. I cracked my knuckles, equally determined. "Ranma, this will be our

last fight. If I win, you have to give up on me."

Ranma smiled wickedly, confidently, feverishly. "Good enough. Come

on!"

I sent a rapid series of punches at her. "I refuse to lose to you this

time!" There was far too much at stake, not just for me but for Akane

as well. I WAS in love with Ranma. But it would destroy Akane if she lost her ... him. I had to restore Ranma to normal. Even if it meant loosing her love.

Ranma blocked each one of my punches, then suddenly jumped and kicked me

under the chin. I went flying backwards.

"Go!" Ranma took advantage of my vulnerability. She cast the koi rod's

line in my direction.

I was flying through the air, helpless to alter the direction of my

flight, unable to get out of the koi line's flight path. I had only one

chance. "You'll never catch me!" I reached up and removed my bandanna.

Unfortunately, I was only wearing one today. I would have to make this

count.

"Hah!" I threw the bandanna. It struck the sucker tip and sent it

flying towards a tree.

It hit the tree and was caught lodged in some branches.

Suddenly a young man appeared out of nowhere. "Excuse me," he said,"is this Shinnomeme High?"

I stared at the young man. How did he just appear out of mid air? Ranma gathered her wits and said "No, this is Furinkan High."

"Oh, sorry for bothering you, "said the young man. He then held up a strange staff and waved it around then disapered. His voice said, "I'm coming Ifurita.", then it was gone.

We both jumped away as a blast of lightning struck the tree. The Koi fishing rod was gone.

Akane stepped up and just stared at the spot where the Koi fishing rod used to be.

Ranma took advantedge of her inattention and knocked her out. Then she spun around to face me.

"Sorry about this my love.", she said to me in a sad voice. Then she hit a pressure point on me and I lost consciness.

***

I awoke later in my tent. I looked over and saw Ranma looking back at me. She looked very pretty.

Ranma looked at me and said, "Now my love we can be together forever."

Then she kissed me full on the lips. I could no longer deny my feelings. Ranma was kissing me and I was in love with her. I kissed her back deeply , passionately , and intensely.

A few moments later we stopped kissing and gasped for air. I looked at Ranma and knew what I must do.

"Yes my love we are together forever," I said.
