    Not to disparage the FAQ maintainers, but I know that *I* have had a lot
of questions over the years that are not answered by the FAQ.  Questions
that *can't* be asked on the list; many of them are related to banned threads.



    So.  What I'm proposing is a sort of "other" FAQ, for those questions that
new FFML members (and, probably, some older ones) have that they don't feel
comfortable asking, or that have been threadbanned, or the like.  Things
that come up from time to time, usually as a sort of in-joke.  The idea is,
when someone has a question, they can check this FAQ out and hopefully find
an answer before they possibly irritate someone on the list.



    Here's a sample of the type of question I'm talking about (NOTE: DO NOT DO
NOT DO NOT respond or discuss these on the list!):



    - Who/what is/was Gubby?  What did he/she/it/they do?

    - Who was Hitomi?  Why do so many people start frothing at the mouth
whenever that name comes up?



    (note that BOTH of these are questions that I've asked in the past, and I
imagine other FFML members who weren't around during these times have had
the same questions)   



    In addition, I'd be interested in maintaining a list of banned
threads/dead horses.  At least one recent thread was mentioned by an admin
as being banned in the past; a way to check on this sort of thing before
posting would be nice.  I don't imagine that many folks will bother to use
it, but it might help.



    Here's where I need help from YOU.  I'm perfectly willing to maintain both
the 'other' FAQ (title suggestions, anyone?) and the dead horse list, but I
need help collecting information for both.  Send me relevant information
(*privately*).  I'll put it all together, edit stuff for
length/clarity/etc, and when it's ready, post a link to it.



    Question suggestions, question answers, those darn pesky horses that just
won't die... you name it, I can probably use it.  Details of any story
about the FFML that you consider good information to know is valid; if you
can provide email addresses for the people involved, so that I can get more
details if necessary, so much the better.



    Anybody interested?
