I like thific quite a bit, but I see at least one flaw in your portrayal of
the story.
*The Battoujutsu is a close area fighting style againist multiple
opponents. It draws its strength from reading an oppenent's moves
and counter attacking with both speed and power, thus the name
Battoujutsu.
No it isn't, and no it doesn't. The battojutsu is the tecnique where
Kenshin draws his blade from his sheath and makes a single
incredibly powerful attack in the same motion. If you don't believe me,
then here is a quote from the translation of the manga;
"Battou-jutsu--By whipping the sword out of the sheath, one can
increase its speed twice or three fold. A great technique which can
kill with one blow without taking a single blow from one's opponent.
It could also be called iai-jutsu (the art of drawing one's sword,
cutting down one's opponent, and sheathing the sword all in one
movement.)"
What you are thinking about is the style Hiten Mitsu Ryugi itself. Hiten
Mitsu Ryugi's primary purpose is to combat against large numbers of
opponents with the minimal amount of movement. Users of the Hiten Mitsu
Ryugi are said to possess 'God speed' they do not need to employ a special
tecnique for this. The battojutsu is on a speed level far beyond even that
normally used in Hiten Mitsu Ryugi.
You should go through this fic and remove many of the references you have
made to the Battoujutsu. You are really refering to The Hiten Mitsu Ryugi
style.
another quote from the manga translations:
"I forgot to say one thing. Hitokiri Battousai's style of fighting is
not that of the Kamiya Kasshin School. It's an old style of kenjutsu
which arose in the Sengoku era, designed to face many opponents
at once. The name is Hiten Mitsurugi. And without the reverse
blade, it is slaughter with deadly swiftness."
