(A repost - my first try several days back didn't seem to make it.)

Floating around in the back of my mind for weeks, this finally wrote

itself a few days ago. Once again, it's written from the opposite point

of view. ^_^

Past Into Future

She stirred against him, and he awoke.

He didn't open his eyes, but the lack of light shining through his

eyelids, and the quiet around the temple -- no cars or trucks on the

road going past, no barking dogs or children playing -- indicated that

it was still very early in the morning.

Listening, instead, to her quiet breathing, he smiled slightly and

tightened his arm around her, drawing her back to him.

	Happy.

	He was so incredibly happy.

Happiness, he decided, was like love. It couldn't be subtracted

from, or divided - just added to, or multiplied.

Memories passed through his mind - moments when his happiness and

love for her grew - and multiplied.

The moment he realized this beautiful girl -- no, woman -- wanted to

be with him.

Their first kiss, on the beach in the moonlight.

The first time the slept in the same bed together.

The first time they made love.

	The proposal...

		...the acceptance...

			...the wedding.

	Until yesterday...

... when she had told him of their child. The baby she was carrying

within her. A part of her, and a part of himself, in a few short months

to grow the family from two to three - and to again raise his happiness

and love - by an infinite amount.

He moved his fingers over her stomach, knowing it was still far too

soon for any visible changes.

Holding his Goddess, he waited for sleep to retake him.
