NGE in Imperial Rome! Putting NGE characters in a different
historical/period setting can be really interesting as hinted at
by CoaEG where the cast are paralleled with characters in the
Kingdom of Joy. This fic takes that kinda thing all the way.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on the above! I do think that the
Latinized names are an excellent touch - though the author could
idiot-proof the fic (for pple like myself) by creating a separate
file which has the cast list and a glossary of the geographic terms.
Mr Trujillo definitely succeeds in evoking the atmosphere of the
period and I really enjoyed these 2 chapters (although Part IV:
Imperial Son could use a bit more work - the sequence of events
from the time Lagena starts to batter down the door start to
become a little unclear). Looking forward to more!

Erm. Methinks the spoiler warning and spoiler space is sorta
redunant. I mean it's kind of understood for pple who read
fanfics right? Plus, I'd prefer it if the author's notes
(unless shortened to 3 lines or something), should go to the
back of the fic IMHO.
Well, basically this feels more like a prologue sequence (rather
than a full chapter). The scene is basically set for changes in
the continuity of NGE at the end of the Evangelion:Death movie.
Writing-wise, kinda like 'this happened, that happened' interspersed
by bits of dialogue.
Basically, a bit too short. Can't say it's really lit my fire
either. Will have to wait and see.

Chapter 8: Operation Anti-Succubus Phase II

This is MARVELLOUS stuff. Especially since it's an original fic,
the author has had to build up the characters from scratch unlike
most normal fanfic in which appearance and some aspects of
character can be taken for granted.
There's character and emotional development (of which I really
enjoy the Kumiko x Ken angle) and plenty of other threads/sub-plots
and third-string characters (like the Paranormal Club) who keep
things smooth-flowing and funny. There is also the sexual innuendo
element that makes this limey (not lemony) fresh!
And while I'm on one of Amm's original fics, might as well say
something about another one of his stories - Project Kawaii which
I've read up till the teasers of Ch 4. Quite different from KtD-g.
Emi was so nauseatingly cute that I nearly had a diabetes attack
at my desk - very convincingly written. Her plain 'friend' Junko
with her magical girl armband is an excellent foil to the former
character. The Nayoko/Lady Morgana thread seems to have been side-
lined in Ch 3 and in what I've seen of Ch 4 but loads of potential
there. Among the minor characters, the ninja clan is great! I
respect Ichiro and smile at how the ninja mom likes to dress her
son up as a girl. But my favourite is the heavily put-upon Atsuko
- plus I get the feeling that she's taken a shine to Junko. Again,
another GREAT original fic.
