Ohhohohohohohohoho! Bow, puny mortals, lest I pull out the vinyl whip of-- uh, wait, wrong email. This is the FFML and not the VFMSDBDL. Sorry 'bout that.

New CLAN material is with prereaders right now, and will probably be spruced up/remodeled/revised by the end of next week. Here's a teaser to keep you on your toes for a few days.

    The two burst into a much larger clearing. Ranma
looked around wildly in horror. The sky above was black and
orange with smoke and the glow of rising flames. The village
below was an inferno. All the thatched roofs were blazing
and the air shimmered in front of them. Black smoke poured
up into the sky. Ranma choked back a cough, and half-closed
his eyes against the glare.

    The people of the village were running around
screaming. Rather than fighting the fire, however, all the
people were scattered around, using rudimentary weapons to
hack at dark, burning shapes that were shambling around or
already on the ground. The rotten stink of ravener was all
around them. Somewhere behind him, Ranma could hear the
cries of the wounded and the bereaved. For a second, his
stomach heaved at the devastation.

"Is Ryouga-sama here?" Akari asked. "I checked his house,
but he wasn't there either."

    "You may have just missed him," Kasumi explained. "I
think I heard him say something about Furinkan high school."

    "I'll look there, then!"

    "Maybe you would like to wait here?" Kasumi suggested.
"There is a violent monster wandering the streets. You would
be safer if you would stay with us while you are in town."

    "I'll be okay! Katsunishiki will protect me," Akari
declared. "I have to find Ryouga-sama!"

    "Akari-chan, wait!" Kasumi pleaded.

    "I saw... I saw everyone who's going to die because
of the raveners."

    "Who?" Hikaru asked, struggling to keep his voice
calm.

    "A lot of people I don't know," Mio admitted, "But
there were people I did know. Ranma, Akane and her sisters.
A lot of people from our school. You... me."
