A Demon named Damon made me do it.
Chapter one
This is a Ranma Tenchi(OAV) fusion.
Being my first Fic, I need work, so anything you can provide
would be appreciated.
Considering I have seen all the Tenchi series, and I like how
the oav hits everyone together, better than the universe, and
the Chin Tenchi, or Tenchi in Tokyo.
I am also following Ranma from the Anime, and if you would feel
I am not depicting something right, then please let me know.
FYI: As I wrote this chapter I was trying to go for a theme,
and as a result, I have written what I hope will be the darkest
chapter of my first fanfic.
Please send comments, Critique, Flames, anything constructive

The Present
(more or less - say about 3 weeks after OAV #14)
****************************************************************
It was just another one of those days.
Tenchi had just come in from working in the carrot fields. He
was followed by Ayeka who had been sweeping at the shrine. Both
were tired from their tasks and wished to get a little rest.
Sasami was in the kitchen happily preparing the evening meal.
Ryoko was nowhere to be found. Sasami reported that she saw the
Space pirate loafing around earlier, but had lost track of her.
"She'll be back, you know she never misses dinner." was Ayeka's
comment. Ayeka was still mad from earlier in the morning when
she caught Ryoko trying to get into Tenchi's bed.
Tenchi noticed Ayeka's glare and although wary, he knew who it
was directed at. The fights were so common around the house.
He was getting rather practiced at both Damage control and
carpentry from all the rebuilding.
He inwardly chuckled to himself, he almost had a construction
company living under one roof. On the other hand, it could also
be a Demolition company.
All of a sudden Tenchi became aware of a set of arms forming
around him in a big hug, and that oh so familiar call....
"Tennnnnn..chiiiii"
Of course Ryoko was back from parts unknown, and just like Ayeka
said, she was right on time for dinner, as the bell was sounded.
As everyone sat down to eat, Sasami looked around for Mihoshi.
It wasn't like her to miss dinner, and she had spent so much
time making plenty of food for the human vacuums.
"Where is Mihoshi." Was the young cooks question?
"I don't care, now lets eat, I'm starved."
"Ryoko, have some manners. I don't know where she is Sasami,
but we should not let this wonderful dinner get cold."
Tenchi asked Sasami if she had spoken to Washu. The genius
had locked the lab door 4 days ago, and had not let anyone in.
She had demanded total isolation for reasons unknown, but when
Mihoshi had asked her why, Washu had gotten very tense. Like
she knew something that she wasn't telling anyone else.
As Dinner came to a close, and Ryoko and Ayeka had their little
fight over the last pickle, everyone thought it a good idea to
clean up the mess and then watch TV.
Just as Tenchi was about to sit down on the sofa, and join them,
they heard Washu door opening.
The young girl looked tired, and obviously had been hard at
work. Her clothes were in burned in places, and wet in others.
She seemed in need of a good soak in the Furo. But her eyes
were shining like she had just won the hardest battle of her
Life.
She walked over to the group now staring curiously at her.
Ayeka began to say something when she was interrupted by Washu.
"I need to show all of you something."
The now interested group followed Washu back into her lab. The
first thing to notice was that that the lab was changed around.
The only equipment that anyone could see was partially hidden
behind a large curtain.
"First things first." Said Washu, walking over to the curtain.
As Washu pulled away the curtain, gasps, eeps, and Miyas abound.
Enclosed in a large fluid filled tank, hooked to various devices
monitoring seemingly all possible aspects of life, and wearing a
breathing mask, was a woman. She was clearly a member of the
fairer sex. She was clad only in a Black and blue striped
spandex swimsuit. Her waist length dark green hair was free
floating, giving her an almost god-like halo.
Floating there, seemingly dead, only the beeping, monitoring
machines gave any hint to the presence of function, soul, and
Life.
"I would like all of you to meet..... "
****************************************************************
(Space, aboard Yokinojo, Mihoshi's ship.)
As Mihoshi had just finished docking procedures, and entered her
Rather long passcode, she make contact with Headquarters.
"First class Detective Mihoshi, here with a special report sir."
"What is it Mihoshi?" came from the man, clearly annoyed.
"I..don't <sniffle> know sir. <Sniffle>Washu asked me to read
this to you, and made me <sniffle> promise not to read it before
hand. Please don't yell."
"Okay Mihoshi, I'm sorry, please go ahead."
"Ok"
As Kiyone read the letter tears began to form in her eyes, and
she was fighting to keep going. The officer was being joined at
his console by several other personnel, who could hear the pain
in Mihoshi's Voice.
The letter read as follows......
****************************************************************
To whom it may concern at Galaxy Police.
My name is Washu. You should remember me from Mihoshi's reports
from the incident with Kagato. I wish for you to know about
this as it concerns both Galaxy police and Mihoshi.
Four days ago, I discovered a body in space. I was searching a
Debris field in a metallurgy analysis for my own benefit, when
I came across the remains of a life form.
The victim had frozen to death in space. I thought it only
proper to prepare a proper burial, so I had it transported to
my lab on earth.
However, once I got it, my scientific nature got the better of
me and I wanted to see the effects of death from freezing in
space.
My scans showed that I had a woman in her mid twenties, and she
was in excellent physical condition. She was wearing a space
suit that could have supported her for possibly several days,
but I found that she had turned off the life support early.
She had made a log, to let people know that she had excepted
death and no one should be blamed, even though she was not the
cause.
It seems she lost her ship, and her comrades took her for dead,
and left without her. She first experienced denial, she thought
someone would come for her. She then decided to face reality,
and try to save the energy from the suit to power the log, so
that it may be heard if found her body drifting in space.
I at first thought her to be dead, but she disconnected life
support too well. I found her brain to be Completely intact.
I cannot explain how, but I scanned it with every instrument
I could think of. She was for lack of a better word, Perfect.
>From the testing I found I could revive her. She suffered some
physical damage, and her arm was almost destroyed by what I
suspect was a impact by some of the debris.
I began to restore life to her, I also replaced much of her left
arm with bio-mechanic implants.
I began the process of warming her slowly, and repairing other
nerve and tissue damage as I went. her brain was functioning,
and took over life support functions on day two.
I also had to repair muscle atrophy, but everything went better
then I had hoped.
I thought that this would be almost impossible, but as of this
moment while Mihoshi is reading this, I am in the process of
re-animating her. I will provide any sensor logs to whoever
wants them.
I wished Mihoshi to read this for two reasons. First I did not
want her here at the moment of re-animation, and second I
thought that you should know of this.
The reason that I wanted you to know is that the person I found
is Galaxy Police officer, First Class detective Kiyone.
****************************************************************
As Mihoshi read the last words aloud, she burst out crying. She
Immediately cut off communications to Headquarters, and Yokinojo
franticly tried to disconnect from the cradle, or Mihoshi, in
her state, was going to tear the ship apart. She was pulled
thrusters past maximum power, and pointed nose at a small
inhibited world, where she would find her lost partner. The
partner she left for dead.
With tearing eyes, she spoke softly, almost crying.
"Kiyone."
****************************************************************
(Back at the lab)
A hush overcame the room, as the reality of what Washu said sank
in. This was Mihoshi's partner. One of Galaxy Police's finest,
and presumed dead during one of the greatest cases in GP
history.
Sasami and Ryo-Ohki walked right up to the glass, staring at
this person. Sasami wanted to know. "This is Kiyone? Is she
hurt?"
I was doing a scan of space when.... I found her, or should I
say, her body."
Ayeka asked "Is she ..... dead, Washu chan?"
"Not anymore" said Washu. "I am after all the greatest
Scientific Genius in all the Universe." She replied, not with
her usual spunk and vigor, but still with confidence.
"Don't tell me you did some Frankenstein thing to her, that
proves you are a mad scientist." Ryoko's first words since the
curtain was pulled back.
Everyone started to moved away from Ryoko as Washu got angry,
and they all knew what happened when Washu got angry.
Washu calmed down then her holo-computer appeared in front of
her, and she pressed a button, then a giant weight labeled 16
tons appeared over Ryoko then fell. <Wham> went the giant
weight as it plowed Ryoko into the ground.
"Anyone else want to call me a mad scientist?"
More sweatdrops and head shaking from the still conscience
members of the group.
"I got that idea from Looney Tunes, what do think of it?"
marveled Washu, looking over her handiwork.
"But Washu, What about Kiyone?" asked Ayeka, turning attention
to the body in the tank.
"So, she is alive? Why is she in there Washu?" Asked Sasami.
"Yes Washu, how is this possible?" asked a interested Tenchi.
"There is quite a bit to explain, but I, but I will spare you
the details. I found Kiyone when scanning the Debris field at
the sector coordinates that Mihoshi gave me. I was actually
trying to figure out what kind of a weapon that created the
problem, But I wasn't going to make one, I swear! Anyway she
looked dead, her body frozen from the cold vast nothing of
space."
"So she is dead." stated Ryoko, pulling herself out from under
the fallen weight and less then amused.
"No, technically she was FROZEN, but that is what kept her
alive." exclaimed Washu. "I immediately transported her here.
I then ran every diagnostic I could, and found her to be in
excellent condition. I had to heal some wounds and repair some
damage, but her brain was still in perfect shape. It seems
the freezing happened too well, and she will suffer no adverse
mental retardation. A scan of her brain proved it."
Ayeka was next to ask. "So much like our Juri's method of
suspended animation for long voyages by ship."
"Yes, it is Ayeka, She will be hallucinating for a brief period
after re-animation. I just hope we can calm her. I think that
the earpieces I installed to play music gave her something to
occupy her mind during the recuperation. I had to re-animate
her brain functions right away to prevent damage, but I had to
warm her slowly and repair tissue and nerve damage caused by
the cold. I also had to replace most of her left arm. It was
damaged by debris, so she now has cybernetic implants.I put her
in the tank here to ... Thaw her out."
"Her arm looks fine to me Washu." Ayeka asked
"I used a technique to regrow skin over her implants, so it will
be just like her old arm, well .... Almost."
"How long has she been in there Washu?" Asked Tenchi
"I found her 4 days ago, and she has been in there ever since."
Tenchi stood there looking at the delicate form still lifeless
submerged in the tank. Now he knew what Washu was hiding from
Mihoshi. Wait a minute.... What about Mihoshi? He looked at
Washu, and asked "Do you know where Mihoshi is?"
"Yes Tenchi, I asked Mihoshi to Deliver a report to Galaxy
Police this morning, and sent her off right away. I told her to
read the report in it's length to her superior officer, but made
her promise not to read it until that point. I wanted her busy
elsewhere when I re-animate Kiyone."
Tenchi said "Then......"
Washu nodded and said "She gets out today."
"So ..... we will have a new house guest then!" Said Katshito.
More eeps and jumping occurred as everyone got a fright. Then
turned, trying to figure out just how that a man, wearing
wooden sandals on a hard surface, was able to sneak up on them
without a sound.
"Grandpa?, how.... oh, nevermind. This is Kiyone, Mihoshi's
partner." Tenchi turned to Washu. "What did the report say?"
"I told GP what I just told all of you, and considering what it
said, we can expect Mihoshi to be on her way back here like a
demon. With that in Mind I think we should get this started."
Washu pressed a button on one of the control panels in front of
the tank, there was a alarm buzz and then the liquid in the tank
began to bubble. It looked like a carbonated soda that someone
just started to shake up. The frail body was lost in the
bubbling and churning in the tank.
The liquid calmed down, then began to drain. The passenger that
it held was gently deposited on the bottom of the tank.
Then the sides of the tank were lowered.
As Kiyone started to get up, Katshito Pushed Tenchi at her from
behind. Tenchi almost toppled over and fell on her, but
regained balance. He held out his hand as she removed her mask.
Kiyone was puzzled. As she took the hand of the young man trying
to help her up, she took a good look around trying to figure out
where she was. She thought she might be at the Bio lab at
Galaxy Police headquarters, but from the view it was clear she
was not. the next thing she noticed was the wanted felon Ryoko,
just standing there next to Ayeka, first Princess of Jurai. It
is quite a shock for someone to return to Consciencness from
death, but this way too much. She proceeded to faint dead away,
falling into Tenchi's arms.
Tenchi quickly caught her and set back down easy. Washu
verified that she was all right, she had just passed out. Ayeka
helped Tenchi get her upstairs. sitting Kiyone on the couch
Sasami got a cold compress, and after a few minutes, Kiyone woke
back up.
Her eyes fluttered open then went wide as Washu, Tenchi, Ryoko,
and Sasami were grouped around her. She quickly grabbed Tenchi
into a Hostage grip, and stumbled over to a defensive stance in
the corner of the room.
"Ryoko ... You fiend. Let me go, or I'll kill your young friend
here."
Ryoko, Ayeka, and Sasami began forming what martial artists
call battle auras. Small logs then began forming in mid
air, completely surrounding the group. Kiyone tugged Tenchi
tighter, trying to get him in the middle of any sort of attack,
which was about to happen.
All of a sudden, Kiyone was wrenched from Tenchi in a flash and
she found herself sprawled across the floor on her back
with a large weight pressing down on her stomach, and a high
pitch Miya.
"W-W-Who are you?" Kiyone Stuttered.
The large fur covered bullet .... no girl, just looked back at
her with big sad puppy dog eyes, and Miya'd again.
Katshito picked Ryo-ohki off Kiyone, then helped her up. She
was a bit shaky at first, like a newborn fawn, she almost fell
several times but Tenchi and Katshito both steadied her.
Kiyone again repeated her query.
"I am Tenchi Misaki, and this is my grandfather, Katshito, and
Princess Ayeka and Sasami, Washu, and ..."
"Ryoko, Class A, galaxy police most wanted criminal." Kiyone
sneered.
Katshito interrupted the fireworks. "Now now, we will have no
fighting among guests here. Tenchi, will you show Kiyone to her
room, and get her some clothes. I don't think she would want to
wear swimwear around all day."
Kiyone looked down, and eeped, such a terrible impression.
she blushed as Tenchi helped her up to her room.
Ayeka followed as she was going to try to help with Clothes.
Washu stopped her and handed her a bag, and told Ayeka it was
what she had been wearing. Ayeka nodded and continued up the
steps.
Washu turned around to Find Sasami holding a towel, a bar of
soap, and wrinkling her nose.
"I guess I need a bath, It would feel good." remarked Washu,
sweatdropping. Sasami instructed her to keep telling herself
and not to come back until that bar of soap was reduced to
nothing more than a thin, flat, wafer.
Upstairs Tenchi had showed Kiyone to the room that was being
used by Mihoshi. He was hoping that there would be no more
guests, for that the house had no more spare rooms, and that
meant more people trying to ....um, whatever.

Galaxy Police Headquarters
There was much activity, they had lost contact with Mihoshi,
but considering what news she had been hit with, it was almost
expected. As it was they would need to send a crew to repair
the uplink, as it suffered damage from Yokinojo tearing away
from it without proper disconnecting procedures.
Everyone who had been lucky, or unlucky enough to hear
Mihoshi's report had been sworn to secret. The had been told
that the information could not be confirmed.
The next task was to get hold of Washu, as they needed proof
that Kiyone was alive, and the Lab boys wanted all the info.
He began setting up the communication array to make the call to
Washu.
After about two hours of waiting he got in contact. Washu had
stepped out of her lab for a while. She did not wish to discuss
and he was not really interested in where she was.
"Of course she is ok, I am the greatest genius in the Universe."
"How is she?"
"She is resting fine, and she shows no signs of trauma."
"Good I'll inform her parents then. Our Lab here would like as
much data as you can provide on this issue."
"I am sending data now, the Transfer will take about 12 minutes,
as slow as our connection is."
"I apologize for that. We had to bounce the signal around a
little because Mihoshi damaged one of our communication arrays
when she finished her report earlier."
"I figured as much. Do you know when she might be back here?"
"Honestly I have no idea, she was pulling her thrusters past
maximum tolerance when she broke free, and I doubt anything
could stop her in her condition."
"Well, thanks for the information."
"I'll let you know if we need anything else."
As the Viewscreen went black, he turned toward the next item
of business, Kiyone's Parents.
They had taken her death rather well, but it would be a guess
as to their reaction to her resurrection. He himself had been
the one to tell them, but they had insisted that police work was
all Kiyone could ever think about, and that she had died doing
her job.
He contacted the Chief, the Half-Lion humanoid's face always
gave him fear, a good person to have in a position of power.
He had been one of the few to get the news who had not been
there to hear it personally. He had upset his desk when he
heard that Mihoshi had damaged the array, but had done a spit
take when he heard why.
The Chief had ordered him to drop all tasks to focus on this.
The Chief also demanded that he be let know when it was
confirmed that Kiyone was alive.
As the chief sat at his desk filling out yet another report, the
officer who had taken Mihoshi's report, and who he had assigned
to follow up, informed him that it was confirmed.
"Yes sir, Washu says she is in good condition, and resting."
"I will tell her parents, you take care of the rest." responded
the chief. The officer Saluted with a "Hai".
The chief nodded and closed the window. He now had a call to
make, and so he sat and decided to figure out how to break the
news to them.
The officer sat with a sigh. He was glad that the chief decided
to tell Kiyone's parents. He was never good with that kind of
thing. He turned to the list again.
There was the Yugami, Kiyone's ship. Mihoshi did not want to
pilot it, nor did anyone else at GP, and since it was owned by
Kiyone it was offered to her Parents, but they asked that it be
used by GP since that is what Kiyone "would have wanted."
So there is sat at Dock 17, unused. A silent almost ghostly
reminder of a great detective. A detective that now needed her
ship.
There was also the issue with the change of rank. Kiyone had
received accommodations for her bravery when she died that she
had received promotion to Sergeant, and that provided an increase
in pay. And there was also the medals she had been given. He
put in a request that proper uniforms and medals, rank and all
to be boxed, and placed in the cargo hold on the Yugami.
He called in 2 detectives who were In Mihoshi's and Kiyone's
Graduating class at the Academy.
As they both Saluted him at his desk they wondered why they had
been called. News had spread that Mihoshi had called in a
special report, and in the middle, had gotten so upset had taken
out the communications array trying to get away.
As the officer looked upon the two female detectives, he began
to circle his desk, pacing. He stopped in front of them and
turned to face them. In full dramatic effect he looked at them
at very somberly.
"I suppose you both are aware that Mishoshi called in a report
earlier today."
"Hai" they said in unison. So this was about Mihoshi.
"We have not yet made the information available as to what
the report was about. What I am about to tell you will not
leave this room, do you understand?"
"Hai" again, in unison.
"Mihoshi read a report made by the Scientist, Washu, currently
located on Planet Earth, where Mihoshi has been also asked to
be stationed by a member of the Royal Family of Jurai."
"Washu reported that she found Kiyone's Body drifting in the
debris at the space coordinates of the incident which we had
thought had claimed her life."
"Furthermore, Washu reported that she had re-animated the body."
"you mean...." said one.
"Yes, Kiyone is alive. We have confirmed this. She is doing
fine, and has suffered no damage from her ordeal."
At this point, one of the detectives had fainted, and the other
had fallen to her knees, unbelieving what she had just heard.
"you cannot be...."
"I am absolutely serious. Washu had sent Mihoshi to make the
report without her knowing what it was about. When she found
out... well you know what happened next."
"Why are you telling us this?"
"The chief has ordered that everything needs to be brought up to
date. He is contacting Kiyone's parents as we speak. He has
also ordered that the Yugami be returned to her, and that Kiyone
be retired from service with full honors. We need someone to
pilot the ship to earth, Mihoshi is out of the question."
"Her name had been entered for excellence in field of duty. And
for that she received increase in rank, and pay. We are going
to be retroactively paying her for this time."
"I need two of you to go, one to present her with the
accommodations and one to witness. Do you accept?"
As the other detective recovered from the floor, she heard what
was being asked of her.
"Yes sir, we accept"
****************************************************************
(back on Earth)
It had been a long day, with many surprises.
Washu had erected a blast shield around the entire shrine area
which everyone agreed that with Mihoshi coming back, certain ..
steps needed to be taken.
Kiyone had not left the room and did not wish to speak to
anyone at the moment. So everyone retired for the night.
Tenchi seemed concerned but a little pushing from Ayeka, and
he went to bed as well.
In her room Kiyone she was sitting there, not able to sleep.
She wondered what was going to happen next. She had been dead
for some time, and now, could she just come back a retake her
life, as if nothing had happened?
It would be a long night.
