Yes, so I jsut headed to my computer and checked my e-mail this morning, not expecting an Evangelion fic to pop up, as none has for the longest of times (*cough* Children of an Elder God), by lo and behold, this was unexpected (well, gee, I sound redundant, but I'm incredibly giddy to be reading an EVA fic once again).

Chapter 1: Wuss Boy/Zombie Girl

:oh, yes -- this WILL be good.

Let's see.  Rei scares me.  More than a zombie would scare me.  And the alias completely does not fit her new altered personality.  Toh scares me.  All I could think of during her introduction was: "I wonder how many bottles of scotch went down the tubes before he went into the mood for this."  If the line about the blue hair wasn't extant, I'd have thought it were Kurumi (from HERZ, for all you deprived people who have not yet had the priviledge to witness the epic).  This one nearly made me faint.  Although I share an enmity with out-of-characterness, I couldn't help but smile at this one.  It reminds me of Rei from Andrew Huang's "EvangJellyDonut" (another fic, that, well, if you haven't read this, you are not an EVA fan, period).

Many lines in this fic had me cracking up.  I'm currently in a counseling building (don't ask), so I had to hold my laughter in.  MY chest was about to explode as things like:

"Hi, Dad," Shinji responded without much enthusiasm as he winced internally. 'He can be *such* a drama queen.'

...And this:

//Oh, don't worry, kiddo,// purred Misato reassuringly, //our great
scientist-engineer-doctor-rolled-in-one accidentally tapped into my
micro-brewery instead of the LCL plant. Rei drank quite a few pints
before anyone realised what was wrong.//
 //I never realised just how many bawdy drinking songs Rei knew!//
chipped in Maya.

...Wish I'd been there to see that one.

And there's an appendix!  Now that brings back beautiful memories of HERZ, if nothing else does.  This is like HERZ and EvanJellyDonut combined or something.

Ah, geez, I have to leave now.  I'd ask Mr. Toh to write faster, but then, I should really speak for myself.
