I liked the explanation for Genma's being a rotten father. I
don't think even that and his being a fool goes far enough but it
is an interesting idea and does explain a lot.
I suspect that if Ranma published an autobiography Genma would
get so many jail terms Happosai and Cologne wouldn't live long
enough to see him leave.
As I've said before, I do have a few stories where Genma comes across as a
better man. I say now that I also have stories where he is far, far worse.
I'll post "Team Tendo" soon, where Genma has lost Ranma in a custody case
shortly after the Neko-ken training, and Nodoka remaries to Soun Tendo...
On the Ranko matter, I seem to remember reading an article that
something like this is often done in sex changes in Japan. It's
been so long ago I don't remember any details.
I did not know this. Thank you for the information. Can anyone confim this?
I consider the nightmares to entirely logical. He was dead and
has a new body and was molested in the space of a few days.
Before that he went through the Cat-Fist training and left Ukyo
and probably other similar examples of Genma's incompetence as a
parent and/or teacher. After all if he can convince Ryoga that
Ranma's life was worse than Ryoga's then he must be pretty bad.
Josephine March Saotome well could be worse. Asuka Ayanami
Saotome or June Cleaver Saotome, for example.
You do realize that the Omake Theater bits are jokes right? All kidding
aside, I chose Josephene March in order to have an obvious litterary
reference. I'd actually welcome submissions for hyper-cute replacement names
for this skit... ^_^
You may quote this in your public and/or private replies.
In other words, I don't care how you answer, publicly or
privately.
Thanks! ^_^

Why shouldn't truth be stranger than fiction? Fiction, after all,
has to make sense.
