Actually, wouldn't Ranma have an easier time pronouncing her first name
than she
would her last. The Japanese language has (for the most part) the sounds
needed
to pronounce Allison with only a slight change in the vowel sounds. Ranma
would
have a harder time pronouncing Rose properly because there are no -r-
sounds in
the Japanese language. Well, that's my two cents in the matter anyway.

Allison is a real person. She lives in Ube, as a matter of fact, teaching
junior high school students English.
She says people have an awful time saying her name!
