Seeing the fanfics on revenge that have been bouncing around the mailing
list lately has given me an idea. Not necessarily a good idea, but an idea
none the less mind you. (mimicks Orson Wells) I give you - the penultimate
revenge fic!

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, is a boring place on
weekends. Don't buy what the SGA tell's you, the truth is that several
students have flatlined in the past from the boredom (either that or the
massive amounts of drinking they attempted to relieve said boredom). Some
of us though, have managed to carve out interesting little gems from our
weekends. I was one of those fortunate people. Little did I know that my
fortune would result in an encounter that would scar me for the rest of my
life...
Ahh, Saturday, day of mystical adventure and heroic - heroisms. With my
character sheet and dice safely tucked into my backpack, I set out from the
cramped dorm room. The afternoon sun glowed high above, dappling the tree
covered areas with dancing shadows. I paused to savor the breeze and the
warmth of the sunlight. My mood was especially bouyed today since I had
just watched my favorite video in my humble collection, again. Gall Force:
Eternal Story, the source of several fanfictions by yours truly if only I
ever got around to finishing any of them. But how should I continue the
plots? I pondered the conundrum as I walked toward the dorm at the other
end of the block. It was a long block, and I was somewhat out of shape, so
I had plenty of time to think as I headed toward the D&D meeting.
Then I saw her. She had books tucked under one arm. She wore black
jeans, with a black and white shirt, and a yellow jacket. There was no
mistaking her! She was my little - but well proportioned - red haired girl.
"Rabby!" I cried out to her. She turned at the sound of her name. "It is
you! I knew I couldn't be mistaken!" Had I actually paid attention to
other revenge fics, I would have also paid more attention to the bottle of
water in her free hand. Had I been in my right mind, I would have paid
attention to the fact that I was talking to an anime character. "I'm your
biggest fan! I'm the writer of the eventually to be finished Infinite
Possabilities and Requiem Postponed. Could I have your autograph? I'd like
to have it framed beside the cel and poster."
She looked me over with those lovely blue eyes of hers. She spoke, "Do I
know you?"
"Nnnnooooo!" Of all the things she could have said. I would happily
have died at her hands if she just acknowledged me. I dropped to my knees,
stricken.
She shrugged and turned away, taking a swig of her water bottle as she
did so. She could have taken no greater revenge as she lifted a leg and
walked off.
