Okay, okay I understand what you're saying. I should have known
better than to try this fic.
Chalk up one dud.
I'd hardly call it a dud - c'mon, look at the number of responses it
generated! You don't see that unless something about it grabs people's
attention.
Good or bad, right or wrong, some people are gonna like it and some
aren't. Some are even gonna get mean about it -- why, I have no idea -- and
attack you as viciously as if you'd set fire to their dog and danced on the
flaming remains. You know what?
It doesn't matter.
The only thing that really matters is, do you have a story to tell? Do
you WANT to write this? If so, WRITE THE DAMN THING! I've already given
you my opinion; you know where I stand about it.
So. I say write it. Incorporate ideas fired back at you by people who
C&C it if you feel it will help the story, round-file the flames, and let's
see what you got, eh?
My god, don't give up on something you wanna do just 'cause some people
don't like it, or can't keep their timelines straight, or feel they have the
One True Answer on characterization.
And besides - I wanna read it! :)
